Scarred

Scarred

Ajani strode up to his father with anger in his green eyes. ''Why did you do that?'' he demanded.

''What are you talking about?'' Scar asked.

''You know exactly what I'm talking about,'' Ajani growled, ''You made Zira your queen and made my mother step down. I want to know why you did that.''

Scar stood up and walked over to his son. ''If you want to know why, it's because you betrayed me.''

''Betrayed you? What do you mean?'' Ajani asked, feeling the anger in his body rise up.

''You have become what I didn't want you to be,'' Scar told Ajani, ''You have become my brother.''

''You mean Mufasa,'' Ajani said automatically.

At the name of his brother, Scar felt rage in his heart. He whipped around and roared at his son. Usually, this would send anybody bowing down, begging for forgiveness. But, seeing Ajani standing there sent another wave of fury through Scar's mind. "NEVER mention that name in my presence!'' he roared.

''Why? Scared his spirit might come back?'' Ajani said, his own boldness increasing with every word he said, ''Anyway, I'm not the one who betrayed the pride. I'm not the one who promised the pride that a golden era was on its way and turned my home into a barren wasteland.''

Scar's patience gave out and he brought his claws out. He aimed for his son's left eye. ''You don't know what this land did to me!'' he roared, his claws meeting rock as Ajani ducked to avoid getting hit.

''I got my scar here! I was deprived of kingship here! This isn't my home, it's anything but a home!''

Scar slashed again at his son. Ajani ducked out of the way again, but his father's claws met on his left shoulder. The force of the impact threw Ajani backwards against a rock that was there. He groaned as a searing pain exploded from his shoulder.

He craned his neck to see the damage, but he realized he had started to feel dizzy. He looked at the ground and saw a tiny pool of blood. HIS blood. He turned his head to look angrily at the lion standing there.

''We all have our scars. Here's yours,'' Scar said, his voice more level than needed.

It was just what Ajani needed to hear to know that Scar was enjoying this very much.

He didn't have time to dwell on that though. His vision started to turn blurry and his head was aching like anything. His shoulder was practically exploding with pain as the blood on the ground increased.

The sight of his father's disappearing tail was the last sight Ajani saw before he gave in to the pain in his head and shoulder.

I really wanted to do this for a long time. This is when Ajani gets his scar from his father.
