Mlima was adopted by Nama and Msaada. She was found wandering in the Nyika Pride's lands and was taken in. Mlima only told the lions in the Nyika Pride that she had come from the mountain. This was all she knew. There was another cub her age in the Nyika Pride. This was another adopted cub called Zuri, who was Nama's adoption. Msaada decided to adopt her. She and Zuri loved playing together in the grass with the sun up in the air behind them. As a teen, she started getting feelings for Zuri. She knew he was related to her by blood so she thought she could have a crush on him.
