Cziw, Arbella and Blad ehad gone to visit Megara, so Blade could convince them that he was being honest to Arbella.
He walked happily, just waiting to see Cziw's face when Megara said that Blade didn't like her. He was certain she would be happy for Balde and Arbella.

Megara made somehting up about having Balde's cub, which was an utter lie. Blade was shocked, so to convionce arbella he said to her "Look, who do you trust, that loser Cziw over there and a lioness you've just met, or me?'
Blade looked at her hopefully, almost pleadingly.
Blade was shocked to hear that Arbella DIDN'T trust him. Shocked, hurt, and furious, Blade sent off a whole rant to her...and ending it by
'THAT CUB PROBABLY ISN'T MINE, ARBELLA!' And then he said the angriest, worst thing possible, the thing he does when he's angriest the most....
'Thanks, Arbella....thank's a lot.'
