Blinded (BtS)
Kobee stared at his reflection in the water with disgust and then sighed. His stinging lungs were relieved as they filled with air and he looked out over the horizon. He had taken refuge at the waterhole every afternoon for that week to try and clear his head but to no avail. He was trapped, his heart was filled with ache and emotionally he was unstable but he knew that things were only going to go downhill from there.
Kiana and Kopa’s wedding date had been announced by Simba to the pride and with the day getting closer, Kobee’s love for her only deepened. He had lost all control of his own feelings and everyday was enduring a constant roller-coaster of coping with ‘love’ and betrayal. He knew it wasn’t love, he had been used so fiercely by Kiana that he was now blinded of any sanity that he had once owned. His goal every day was now to keep his composure, he couldn’t let himself open up because even the slightest crack in his glassy exterior would cause a flooding of emotions to pour out. It wasn’t worth the risk and he knew that he was going to have to contain it.
Kobee exhaled, his warm breath lingered around his thick mane before circling off into the distance with the wind. His tired eyes raked over the savannah, before him was the direction that he had taken Kiana not that long ago. When he had come to the Pridelands he was unaware of the suffering that lay before him. Kima had been right, being alone is far better than any of this. And just for the slightest moment, Kobee considered fleeing, becoming a rogue once more.

Also the title is quite ironic.
