"Can I Call You 'Mom'?"
Aashi and Amor had just finished eating a zebra Amor had caught and were heading back to their den to sleep off their meal.
Aashi looked up at Amor and thought how nice she was. How she took him in, fed him, watched out for him, and how she was just... Really, really nice to him! Aashi thought maybe, just maybe, this was how a real mother was supposed to be like.
It feels like how Ikey treated me... Aashi thought.
Um... Amor? Aashi asked, looking up at her.
What's wrong Aashi? Are you tired? Amor asked, giving him a worried look.
Oh, no, I'm fine. But... um... can.... Aashi stuttered.
Amor stopped in her tracks and looked at Aashi.
Um... never mind. Aashi said. He ran a few paces ahead.
Come on! Let's go! Aashi said, with a big grin on his face. Amor shrugged and smiled back at the little cub. Aashi waited for Amor to catch up before the two started walking toward their den.
Maybe... I shouldn't ask... Aashi thought to himself
