The time has come...
yeah, I'm pretty depressed. My cat has gotten worse, she's being sick every day, and the steroids have stopped working. Mum says that if she doesn't improve by Friday or the weekend then she'll take her back to the vets because she's beginning to suffer. Even if I know it's for the best, I don't want to lose her this quickly, even though I don't want her to be in pain, I don't want any animal to suffer, but it doesn't make the pain any better. I just have a feeling that next time my cat is taken to the vets, it will be the last time that I see her alive. She's only 7, and she could have probably lived to about 12. I always knew that she wouldn't live forever, of course, but I never thought that I'd lose her like this...

I've been through a situation much like yours, except with my dog. she
had gotten very old and had become mostly blind and almost deaf, but
she still had a bit of life in her and could get around fine. up until
the last year, she started sleeping a lot more and only getting up
when we woke her to let her out, and she was having a hard time
getting around and had become very clumsy, if you accidentally bumped
into her, even gently, she would crumble to the floor. and that's when
we made the decision that she was probably suffering and it was best
to put her out of her misery than keep her around for our sakes. Pet's almost never go the way you expect, and it is almost always that it hurts. but i find it helps to think that she is no longer in pain anymore and that she is happier where she is now. Hope this helps ^^ |

you don't know me that well, but i know what it's like. my 3 guinea
pigs ran away, and only 1 srvived. however, she is still out there and
we see her everyday, but she is getting thinner and i fear she is
going to die soon. But, your cat is different to my guinea pig. and i know i'm not the nicest of people most of the time, but i a one of the people you can talk to, because i have had many pets that have needed to be put down, so i can help. |

I'm sorry for you. ): I only somewhat understand - I currently have a
rabbit who has bad teeth and there is nofixing them, so he has to be
put down soon... We can't even breed him... Also we have a buck who is
too old to breed, so we can't keep him either... I have you in my
prayers. |

awe Reb. I know how your feeling. My cat is only 5 and she has had a
bladder infection one and off for about 5 years. Its hard i know. i
know we are not close heck we don't even know each other well but your
a kind and sweet girl if you need someone to talk to i am here. I take
in a lot of people as my siblings since i am one of the older people
on the site. *hugs her* |
