Battle for the Throne
As all of their cubs grew, eventually the most important question concerning his cubs arose in Chaka's mind.
Which one would succeed him and Penda as ruler?
Jyotika, Jelani and Mohan had expressed no interest in taking up the mantle of King or Queen of Priderock which left his eldest son and daughter. Nuala and Aricin.
Both had their good and bad points. Both coul be capable rulers in their own right. Both had shown potential.
Aricin had a short and fiery temper, a tendancy to disregard good advice and had shown a tendancy to think with his claws than his brain. Nuala was stubborn, strong willed and wouldn't back down even if the every odd were stacked against her.
Eventually Chaka's cubs decided for him.
Tempers flared, the two rarely got on in cubhood and even less so in adulthood. The two decided on a battle for the right to rule. The winner would take the throne and the loser would either submit to the winner or leave their birth lands.
Chaka only hoped the better suited sibling won. The matter was now entirely out of his paws.
