Prince Kopa
Just an image i decided to do of the lovely prince Kopa. :)
Some people have asked me why I make Kopa look the way he does. and I have an explanation!
Kopa appears in Six New Adventures, a book that has six short stories. It's said to have taken place before Kiara was born. I, personally, really enjoy the stories, it gives extra depths to the characters.. Plus it introduces many more.. Kopa being one of them. ;)
When designing my idea of Kopa, I took a lot of references of the books. Of course, the books have a comic tint to it. So I also had to compare the comic colors to the movie colors.. In the comic, simba's mane is a dark brown, and Kopa's mane is just a lighter, brighter version of his fathers.. So therefore, I got Simba's mane color from the movie, made it lighter in town, yet added a splash of orangish brown to it, making it appear brighter.
The comic had Kopa's fur to be a perfect shade of Nala and Simba. It was a dark yellowish cream, like Simba's. But Nala's splash of cream making it appear brighter.. Thus, I did the same, but with the movie colors.
His nose is similar to Simba's. Thus I made it similar to Simba's.
The only thing I didn't get from the comic adaption, was Kopa's eye color.. They had Kopa's eye color being brown, and it just bugged me. I didn't think Simba and Nala would have a cub with brown eyes. It didn't make sense..
So I gave him emerald colored eyes, similar to that from Nala's side of the family; Sarafina and Mheetu.
Also, I gave him another Nala trait by giving him noncolored toes.. Just like Nala..
I figured he would also have a body frame similar to Simba's. For Simba looked exactly the same as Kopa as a cub.. I do not think Kopa would have the body frame of Kovu.. at all!! No offense to people who use Kovu as a reference sheet for Kopa.. I just don't see it. -_-
