A newcomer..

A newcomer..

It was close to dusk when the den of Pride Rock erupted in chatter.

The lionesses were all talking about Nala's long lost love child. How he had returned to the lands.

Kiana's ears flickered as she listened, but with everyone talking, and too many conversations going at once, Kiana found it impossible to gather information.

Kiana turned to face the prince, who was resting right beside her.

''Would you like to go check it out?'' Kiana asked her mate.

Kopa rolled his eyes and shook his head no, ''That's something Mother will have to figure out on her own..''.

Kiana sighed at her fiance's answer, but she stood up and padded out the cave.

As she approached the peak of Pride Rock, she saw a small group of lionesses huddle in a circle, circling what appeared to be the king and queen and the stranger.

As Kiana strodded closer, she saw that Simba broke free from the huddle. And he was rather upset.

He mumbled some unheard, yet obviously heated, words under his breath. He appeared to be fuming.

Kiana had to admit, she's never seen him act like this.

Kiana wasn't sure how to respond, but she tried her best to seem relaxed. Maybe a good ear for the king to vent, ''Simba, is everything alright?'' her voice was almost a dove like coo.

Simba looked to Kiana and just growled out, ''Not really!''

Kiana looked over to the crowd of elder lionesses surrounding Nala and the strange male. She then refocused on Simba.

''Who is that lion, Your Majesty?'' she asked curiously, hoping it wouldn't anger Simba more.

Simba rolled his eyes and answered, ''Kobee.. He is Nala's eldest cub..''

Kiana gasped, a bit shocked by Simba's answer. Even though she heard it from the lionesses in the den, it still seemed hard to believe.

Kiana repeated under her breath, ''Kobee....''

Who was Kobee? Why hasn't she heard about him before? Why did Nala and Simba keep this secret? How could Nala just have a cub and not tell anyone? That didn't seem like the loving queen at all..

Simba looked to Kiana and explained, ''When I was living in the jungle, before I defeated Scar, Nala had another mate.. they conceived a cub.. Kobee.. When I returned to the pride and became king, I couldn't stand seeing that cub reminding me of the past.. of Nala being with another lion..''

Kiana listened to her king patiently. Her heart sank as she heard about this heart breaking story.

She looked over to the queen and the group. The queen was obviously uneasy, but you could see a light in her eyes, happy to see her son. The male, who was Kobee, was very unique looking.

Kiana was intrigued by his beautiful markings on his face, and immediately knew he was blind in his right eye. Kiana's smile softened as she imagined the rough life this lion had as a cub.

Simba growled under his breath once more as he watched his bride talk awkwardly with Kobee. He then excused himself from Kiana's presence.

Kiana bowed her head to the king and watched him as he walked away, still fuming.

Kiana turned her glance back to Kobee, and he didn't know this, but she stared deep into his eyes. She truly felt sorry for this lion. And she was anxiously waiting to find out his fate in the Pridelands.

She knew the Great Kings brought him there for a reason. She was not going to question the Great Kings.

She sighed and turned and walked back towards the den of Pride Rock, to rejoin her soon to be mate.

Yep, a little behind the scenes for the day Kobee (lioness_fan(Jess))'s arrival.

Simba was not too happy about it, but that big bully has to get used to it!

Kobee is an awesome character and I can't wait to see more from him..

I hope you like this image, Jess. :*
