A Father's Love
When Huzuni was born, his mother Lira expected praise, glory, attention. After all, she'd managed to beat her sister: first, she'd gotten a mate before her, and now she'd had a cub as well. But instead of congratulations, Lira was met with mockery; how could anybody choose Nuka as a mate? He was so scrawny and weak and whiny, surely his son must be no different. And how pathetic Lira must be, to choose such a pathetic mate. The other lionesses taunted her constantly, and Lira was unable to ignore them. Tiffay, seeing this and not wanting the same fate, abandoned her sister and the pride for a different life.
Nuka tried his best to show her how strong and wonderful their son was, but Lira couldn't ignore the relentless mocking. In her grief she named the cub Huzuni, and she began to neglect and ignore him, falling into a dark pit of depression and despair, one she wouldn't return from.
Though he tried and failed to make his mate happy, Nuka was surprisingly successful with his son. As soon as Huzuni was born, Nuka promised himself that his son wouldn't be treated like he had. Huzuni would be given the love and attention he never received, and his son would be something to be proud of.
While Huzuni was neglected by his mother, he was cared for by his father, and despite Nuka's dimwitted nature, Huzuni still loved his father in a small, almost unnoticeable way. Huzuni knew he was smarter than his father, more clever, and yet Nuka was the only one who truly cared about him. They would play together, train together, spend all their time together.
But their time would soon be cut short, and Huzuni's life would be changed forever.

Wooo, and another one! Wanted to do an image of Nuka and Huzuni while I'm on this Outlanders kick. I know Nuka looks a little vicious, but in actuality, he's only pretending, and carefully keeping his claws sheathed.
