Deep Talks
As their relationship progresses and Mchumba begins to think of their future, she can't help but remember her past, and the last time she saw her family. She remembers the hurt and the pain she felt, and the guilt weighs heavily on her more than ever. Was she right to blow up at her father? Should she have run away? What if she never saw her father again? What if he was dead and she'd lost all chance to apologize?
This particular day she spent the whole day in a funk, and she decided to leave Priderock for some time alone, eventually finding herself in the gorge. Here she could cry and wail as loud as she wanted without disturbing anyone as she mourned her past decisions.
Scarabir, of course, noticed her absence and he set out to find her. When he did, he was distressed to find her so sad, and sought out why. Mchumba finally got the courage to talk about it, and felt a great weight lifted off her chest as she told him of her past while he held her. Once she had finished, he stayed with her, and they talked until the sun set. Scarabir thought she should forget all about her father and just leave him behind, but after talking about it and thinking, Mchumba became determined: she had to find her father.
