Meeting the Guard Pt 1-Childish Antics
It was well known around Priderock that Kirita was the troublemaker of the cubs. From vicious pranks to rule breaking, she'd done anything and everything it seemed to get on everyone's nerves, whether on purpose or not nobody seemed to know. Today was no different as well; like always, Kirita had a thirst for adventure, and she expressed this to her only friend, Habari. The golden cub, on the other paw, didn't want the same adventure she did.
''We can't leave Priderock, it's against the rules!'' he protested, trying to plead with her to abandon the idea. Kirita only scoffed, writing off his anxiety. ''Please, my mom and I do it all the time, and it's fun. Maybe if you left Priderock, you wouldn't be such a wimp,'' she retorted, rolling her eyes.
Habari's ears lowered at the insult, losing faith in his friend. "Kirita, you can't say that it's mean," he replied, but she didn't seem to hear him. "Whatever. Like it or not, I'm having an adventure. Have fun staying here and dying or boredom," she said before turning and racing from the cave.
''Kirita!'' Habari called, but his worried voice fell on deaf ears as she disappeared. For a moment he stood there, panicked; should he tell his mom what Kirita was doing? But Kirita would get in trouble. Still, it was dangerous out in the Pridelands without an adult. What should he do?
He stayed in the cave for a moment, ears lowered and tail flicking in nerves before he took a deep breath and left the cave. Maybe, if he moved fast enough, he'd catch up with her and bring her home before she got too far. Then, she'd be safe at least and hopefully they wouldn't get in trouble. Little did Habari and Kirita know, they'd run into far more trouble than a simple grounding.
