Something Familiar
A normal day in the Pridelands for Habari and Kirita; while their mothers are busy hunting or napping, they're left in the care of another, and today it happens to be Mgumu. Habari wants to play, and while Kirita also wants to play, her definition is...much different from his. While Habari, once more, tries to tell her that playing with your claws out is wrong, she's a little too busy ignoring him and wanting to get on with her day.
Mgumu takes her role seriously, keeps a close eye on the cubs. Maybe a bit too close. The brown lioness has always had a bad feeling about Tiffay and Kirita; from their Outlander status to their behavior, Mgumu isn't too fond of the mother-daughter pair, and something about Kirita is especially troubling. It's not just her behavior-though that is also cause for concern-but something about her seems...familiar, somehow. Mgumu sees something in Kirita other than her mother, but Mgumu can't quite place what it is.
Perhaps it's a mystery for another time.

Wanted to do a fun render, and figured this screenshot would work perfectly for them! I also experimented a bit with shading for fun ^^
What Mgumu doesn't know is Kirita is the daughter of Nuka-someone Mgumu hasn't seen since he was banished along with Zira. Though she certainly remembers what he looked like, she hasn't interacted with him in so long she hardly thinks about him, and his death has also pushed him further from her mind.
Will the pride find out about Kirita's parentage? Only time will tell...
