Ni pricked his ears and turned to look at his best friend. Kane.
Ni - What do you want, Kane?
Kane - Oh, just dropping by, you know how it is. Hey Ni? When me and Erica make a pride, will you join?
Ni - Do you want me to?
Kane - Ha! Just the kind of whimpy reply I expected from a whimpy lion! It's no wonder that Erica hates you!
Ni - No she doesn't!
Kane - No wonder she doesn't want to be your mate!
Ni - Stop it!
Kane - And why should I?
Ni - I'm your friend, Kane! How could you do this to me? Why would you hurt me so?
Kane - Those days are long gone, Ni.
Ni - You've changed, Kane. I was the one who introduced you to Erica. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have even met her!
Kane - Oh, yes! I nearly forgot! Thank you Ni, for introducing me to the one who will help me rule.
Ni - What do you mean?
Kane - When I'm king of our pride we'll have lots of loyal followers. And we'll start by killing the king of her current pride so they join us. Then we'll move onto introducing rouges into our pride until we have a nice big pride. Then we will start taking over other prides until we win them all. They will have to join us when they are defeated. At long last all prides will unite as one, with me as their strong and royal king!
Ni - And what of the rouges?
Kane - They can either join or die. Even if YOU want to join, I'll may kill you.
Ni - What about Erica
Kane - She will just bear me heirs
Ni - So your using her! You don't really love her!
Kane - You finally realise that, huh?
Ni - How could you?
Kane - I must go now and see my loving new queen
Ni - Don't you dare touch her you monster!
Kane - And what will you do? Just because you love her!
Ni - ..................
Kane - Ha! I knew it! Face it, she doesn't even like you!
Ni - You don't know anything! You don't know me, and you especially don't know Erica!
Kane - Oh, don't I?
Ni - No. You don't know her, not the way I know her!
Kane - Fool! She will never love you! If she does, she will die!
Ni - How dare you!
Kane - And the best part is you can't do anything to stop me because Erica will hate you. You can do nothing but sit and watch as your precious Erica bears me heirs!
Ni - Kane what happened to you?
Kane - Nothing happened to me, you were just foolish enough to fall straight into my trap, believe my lies, and introduce me to Erica.
Ni - WHAT?
Kane - Sorry, can't stay and chat any longer, I must go and talk to my loving devoted future queen
Ni watched his ex once-upon-a-time best friend walk away howling with laughter. Ni fell to his knees.
Ni - What have I done?

No! Wait! DON'T SHOOT ME! LET ME EXPLAIN! lol Only joking. So, this what if is, what if Kane was evil, and was just using Ni right from the start? But this is not an official story, Kane was never evil, he just loved Erica a lot but also wanted everyone to be happy. The poor guy :(
