Everything seemed fine that boring, spring evening. Flowers had bloomed, the sky was bright and cheery, but Zira was angry, and seeked revenge on Simba for killing her mate/crush, Scar.
Kopa was a golden bright colored little lion, who always hung around his grandmother, Sarabi. Sarabi was Kopa's babysitter when Simba and Nala went on hunts, or had some "special" time alone. Sarabi loved Kopa dearly, since she didn't have a cub of her own considering Simba was gone most of his cubhood. Kopa liked to go over to his grandmother Sarabi's den in most of his free time, and she always had special little treats for him, like his favorite food; zebra, or a new toy she made herself. The two had an unbreakable bond between them, that nothing, not even Zira, could separate. Well, Zira didn't know that, and saw her chance that spring evening.
Simba saw everything okay, and he had no idea Zira was Scars mate. He assumed she was just another lioness, and she was in his pride. They even mated before, but nothing came of it. As you may see, Zira seemed like an ordinary lioness in the pride to Simba. Kopa had said hello to him, and announced that he was going to Sarabi's. Like every ordinary day.
When he got there, Sarabi was exited to share with him, the zebra migration, where all the zebras cross the Savannah. Kopa was exited, and agreed to watch her hunt. They wouldn't get there, unfortunantly. They would be ambushed by Zira, and her new mate, Zinger.
"Grandma, will I like to see the zebra?" Kopa asked, as he strolled beside his grandma.
"It was my favorite time of the year, me and Mufasa used to watch it together every single year!" Sarabi squealed in joy. Kopa nodded, and they kept walking.
Sarabi stopped when they heard a snap in the brambles beside them. Sarabi's nose didn't work as well as it used to, when Scar hit her, it knocked some of the scent out. She couldn't smell Zira and Zinger, and assumed a hare was in the brambles eating grass. They kept walking. Kopa stopped to sniff a flower. A bee was on top of it, and when it buzzed off, Kopa chased it. Sarabi didn't notice, and continued walking.
Kopa leaped in the air, giggling at the small insect. Sarabi was now far enough away as to Kopa be in danger. Zira and Zinger knew that this was their chance. They leaped from the bushes, their teeth and claws bared.
Sarabi heard Kopa's scream ringing in her ears. She was alarmed to see he wasn't behind her, and sprinted back the way they'd come.
She caught sight of Zira and Kopa, with Zinger. Zinger was growling, and slashing at Kopa, who was already a mess of blood. Zira was chomped down hard on his back leg, and Kopa had tears of pain running down his cheeks. Sarabi roared and jumped onto Zira's back. Zinger joined in the battle, and Kopa was dropped. He hid behind a fallen tree.
Zira pulled Sarabi off of Zinger.
"What are you doing step-sister?" Sarabi shouted angrily.
"I am finishing what Simba has created! Scar's the rightful king!" Sarabi roared once more, and sent Zira flying into Zinger, and both of then tumbled down a steep hill. Sarabi grasped Kopa's scruff and leaped into the bushes. She whispered, "Be quiet, they'll think we left."
But Zinger and Zira got right back up, and went to work searching for them. Sarabi knew if she wanted Kopa to survive, she'd have to die. She looked down at her grandson, who was a mess of blood, and was shaking all over.
"Kopa," she murmered. "No matter what you see, no matter what you here, I want you to stay here until someone else finds you, someone safe. Promise me."
"I-I-I promise." Kopa sobbed. Sarabi stepped forward to leap out, but a twig below her snapped.
"Found you." Zira's voice sneered.
That was the last thing Sarabi saw. Zira leaping at them both, but Zinger was badly injured. He died shortly after the accident. Kopa managed to escape, and ran into the Pridelands. He decided to run away, since he was terrified of Zira. He didn't say a word to Simba, all he did was leave. Simba found out that night, when he noticed the two didn't return, and he narrowed the murder down to Zira.
"Mother," Simba sobbed. "Mother, let my son die. I can have more. There's only one you, and neither of you made it out. I love you, and I hope you rest it piece."
Simba cried all night and slept with her corpse. Both of his parents were now dead. He had nobody.
Simba: Mother? Mother Please Wake Up!
Nala: She’s gone…
Kopa: No! She can’t be gone!
Nuka: YOUR MOTHER IS DEAD! FACE IT TERMITE!
Simba: I have one word to say to you. EXILE!
