After a while a noise caught Uru's attention. All of a sudden a lioness cub, who was called Sarabi, bolted out of the cave and skidded on the ground. Young Mufasa was right on her heels. "Mufasa?" Uru called softly before they could run off.

The cubs turned towards her at the sound of her voice, startled. "Mom?" Mufasa said, surprised.

"Come here. Could I talk to you for a second?"

"Uh...sure," Mufasa muttered, looking uncertainly over his shoulder at Sarabi.

"Alone," Uru stressed.

The cubs must have come to some agreement via mouthings or subtle signals, for presently Sarabi reluctantly began to head down the side of Pride Rock into the grasslands, casting periodic glances over her shoulder at her friend. Mufasa walked slowly up to his mother, his eyes fixed on his feet. Finally he plopped down in front of her, his back hunched in submission.

"Mufasa," Uru said, her voice low, "would you care to tell me what happened yesterday between you and your brother?"

Mufasa mumbled something indistinguishable.

"Sorry?"

"I was stupid," he said more clearly this time. "I guess I got...carried away when we were playing...I didn't know...I'm sorry."

"He seemed pretty upset when I talked to him about it."

"I know," Mufasa moaned. "I didn't realize he was so sensitive. I-I really am s-sorry..."

"Shh, it's okay," Uru murmured, trying to comfort the cub, who seemed on the verge of sobbing. "As long as you know that what you did was wrong, I forgive you." She leaned down and rubbed her forehead against his. "How would you like to apologize to Taka?"

Mufasa looked up, a smile beginning to return to his lips. "I would like that a lot, Mom," he said sincerely, and he stood up and headed for the trail to the summit.
