Every breath I draw now is strained and rasping,
Like water trying to trickle through a dried-up stream.
My life still struggles on in these fading hours,
I fear that I am not long for this world .
Is it any wonder that my last thoughts are of you?
It's not a wonder at all, really.
We all know that no-body can live forever, even if they try.
It's the Circle of Life, it has beauty and ugliness, glory and shame, despair and hope,
yours was completed before it should have been, my love.
But it is not our task to choose wether we live or die,
We should live our lives to the full, however short they may be.
My time has come now, our son wants to fetch medicine, but I have begged him not to go,
I won't be here when he gets back.
The young will replace the old, for I am of a time long past,
And it is time for new strength, new courage, new hope.
And now I can remember we first met, how serene we were,
We were the young ones back then, we were free, we were reckless!
And I smile knowing that I am fianlly coming back to you,
and we will be together again at last,
Mufasa.
