Choose Your King

Two lion kings to choose between,

Decide which is superior.

One the son of a mortal king,

The other of immortal emperor.

One was born of flesh and blood

In a circle as old as rhyme.

The other has neither beginning nor end,

And outlives Father Time.

One sings of life and family,

But echoes die away.

The other sang a universe

That did endure and stay.

One ran from home and heritage

Fleeing his father’s final breath.

The other followed his destiny,

Knowing it would be his death.

One fought his kin to save his land

From villainy and strife

The other died for a traitor

To bring the dead to life.

One fought to hold onto this life

With all the strength that he could tap.

The other willingly gave himself,

For death to him was just a nap.

One of these kings shall take an heir

Who glories in his mane.

The other reigns forevermore,

And Aslan is his name!
