The ceremony went on as planned. Kiara and Kopa were presented as the new prince and princess of the Pridelands. Nala had just went into the cave to put the cubs to bed. After she returned she and Simba began to talk. "Now that we have twins how will we decide who will become king or queen?" Simba asked. "Well we could go by who was first born." Nala replied. "And who was that?" Simba asked. "Kiara." she said.

Kiara and Kopa were growing very fast. One day the young cubs decided to go exploring. They raced out of the cave only to be stopped by what seemed to be a giant paw.They looked up only to see their father. "Where do you two think you're going?"  Simba asked. "We're going exploring!" answered Kopa. "O.K. well just be sure to stay away from the Outlands and be home before dark. Do you understand me? Simba asked."Yes father." the cubs replied. "Now run along now. And stay on the path I marked for you." Simba shouted as he watched the cubs run through the grass. "Keep an eye on them for me." he whispered to Zazu. "Yes sire." he said. Then he flew off.

"Hey Kiara do you ever wonder what's over in the Outlands?" Kopa asked. "Oh no Kopa you know what Daddy said about that place. He said never to go over there." Kiara replied. "And he's absolutely right." said a voice from behind them. The cubs turned only to see Zazu. "There is nothing there but a bunch of back-stabbers." he said."All the more reason to explore it!! Come on!!" Kopa said as he ran away from Zazu and Kiara. "Kopa stop!!" Kiara yelled form behind him. "We have to go after him!!" Zazu said. Then they ran after him. Finally, after a lot running they caught up. When they did they saw Kopa standing in the top of the hill leading down to the Outlands. "Kopa let's go back. We still can make it home if we leave NOW!!" Kiara pleaded. "No I don't want to." Kopa said. Then he ran down the hill. Once he reached the bottom he was grabbed by someone. "KOPA!!!!!" Kiara screamed. She ran down the hill only to find her brother gone. "Zazu go get help!" she shouted to Zazu. "Oh yes at once!" he said. Then he flew off at full speed to warn Simba.

Kopa found himself in a dark cave. It was dark and he couldn't see anything. "W...where am I?" he asked. Now he was starting to get scared. "Hello....Kopa." said a strange voice. "Where are you....who are you?" he asked. "Don't worry about that." the voice said. "Let me go!" Kopa said. "I'll let you go. But before I do remember this: When you get tired of being in your sister's shadow we'll be waiting for you." the voice said. "What do you mean.....hello? Are you still there?" Kopa asked. The voice was gone. All Kopa heard was someone calling his name. Suddenly he saw a bright light. he ran toward it. Finally he reached and ended up outside standing in front of Kiara, Zazu, and worst of all his father.

"I told you to stay away from there!! What were you thinking Kopa?!" Simba yelled. "But Daddy it wasn't his fault." Kiara lied. "It doesn't matter. You both were the ones who disobeyed. Now go to the cave you two are grounded." Simba said. The cubs walked slowly into the cave. "I can't believe you told on me." Kopa snarled at Kiara and Zazu in the cave. "Kopa we had to. You were in danger." Kiara replied. "I was fine." he said. The he turned  away and said nothing else. "Kopa I-" Kiara started. She realized he wasn't listening so she to turned away and said nothing else. Later on in the night Kopa awoke. He kept thinking of what that strange voice had said to him in the Outlands. When you get tired of being in your sister's shadow we'll be waiting for you. Finally he couldn't take it any more. He ran into the night. He came to the same dark cave where he was held. Then he heard the strange voice again. "We've been waiting for you." it said.

The next morning Kiara awoke. She turned to where Kopa was and didn't see him. She panicked. "Daddy, Kopa's Gone!!!.
