Chapter 1:

Coldness filled the air the sun covered sky. Rusty retracted his black claws as stretching. Front of his mane covered his ice-blue eyes, his fur was light gray and can be turned white when he's under the sun. He woke up his friend sleeping by him,"Hey, Juru. Wake up." Juru was Rusty's friend since he could remember. He has a light gray mane, orange eyes and light gold fur. He yawned.

"Rusty, can we sleep-in?"

"No. I promised our friend PJ that we meet him at the river for that fight between me and Frosco." Juru yawned again.

"Ok." Rusty turned around sharpley and headed for the river. When they got there, they saw PJ circling around.

"Morn' PJ."

"Finally you guys came." PJ was the panic type. He has a thin dark mane, light purple eyes and light orange fur.

"Why are you and Frosco fighting anyway, Rusty?"

"It's because we're both rivals and yeah."

"But he's the toughest lion in Kenya."

"This part of Kenya anyway." He sat down and waited. Finally Frosco came. He was the toughest lion out there. Jet-black mane, fearful grey eyes and dirty yellow fur.

"Ready, Rusty?" He said in a voice most lions would run away to.

"I'm always ready, Frosco." They circled around a little and the fight began. Scratching, and bites everywhere. What seems like an eternity later, the fight ended. Leaving Rusty laying on the ground. Frosco just grinned and strut walked away. PJ ran over to his friend who could be dying.

"Rusty?" Juru sat by his side.

"Rusty? You're going to be ok." Everything to Rusty was drowsy and silent. A few seconds everything became dark and silent.

Dead silent...

Chapter 2:

Rusty soon found himself traveling through a lighted tunnel. He soon crashed open through shiney pearly gates and slid down a long hallaway,"Anyone here? If so, where am I?"

"This is the great hall of judgement." A soft voice said. The voice came from a light pink angel lioness with shiny green eyes.

"Did you say judgement?"

"Yep. Come with me so I could see what your life record is."

"Uh, nice place you got here. Lights everywhere."

"Heavens a wonderful place." She looked through a huge book of everyones lives.

"Heaven? You mean I'm-"

"Stone cold. I can't find any goodness."

"What?"

"Says here you lie, cheat, steal and you broke all the comandments and deadly sins."

"Is that bad?"

"Is it bad? It's horrible. We got a place for types like you." Next to her was a lever. She pulled it down and a trap door came under Rusty. It was the other place. He hung for dear life.

"Is there anything I can do?" He couldn't hold on anymore and slowly sank into the other place. The lioness helped him up, closed the trap door and led him to a cabnit. Inside, she pulled out a book that can save Rusty.

"Well, in here, there are two orphans that need help. You must be their guardian angel."

"Me help people? Have you seen my record?"

"It's the only way. You could earn your halo and wings by doing this or earn your horns." He gulped.

"I'll help." A circle whirled below him and travled back down the tunnel to earth. He crashed down to the ground and saw Juru sleeping. He touched his shoulder and bagan to freak out.

"Who's there?!"

"Whoa, Juru. It's me."

"No, Rusty. We saw you dead." Rusty cupped his mouth.

"I'm not dead. If I was, would my paw go through you?"

"That's true."

"Good, everythings settled."

"Why aren't you in heaven?"

"I gotta be some guardian angel to two cubs without parents. Whatever they're called."

"Orphans."

"Something like that."

"You better go." He sighed and soon walked into the wilderness. When he was walking, he saw the angel.

"Oh look, the flying nun."

"Rusty. I must give you something."

"Presents from the great above." She put on him a shiny purple coller.

"This coller can make you visible and invisible if you want."

"Anything else?"

"Be careful." Soon his coller sunk into his mane.

"Where are the orphans?" she pointed somewhere then dissapeared.

Chapter 3:

He walked forward and saw two cubs. One a male with a black mane tuft, crystal blue eyes and tawny fur. Another a female. Tawny with red eyes. The angel stood by him.

"Ready?"

"What if they don't believe me?"

"Let me take care of it." With her mystic powers, she formed a heavenly light and pushed Rusty in it. After the light and the lioness was gone, the cubs looked at him.

"Are you some angel?" said the male.

"Yeah, but most importently, guardian angel."

"Where were you when we needed you?" said the female.

"Let's get to know each other. I'm your guardian angel for as long as needed."

"Tavo." Said the male.

"Shela." Said the female.

"Name's Rusty."

"Rusty, we're hungry." Complained Shela.

"I'm an angel not a chef."

"Please?" He growled a little and went to a zebra hearding ground. When he was hunting down a zebra, he bumped into a lioness.

"'Watch it!" yelled the female. she had pale yellow fur with velvot eyes.Rusty simply smiled.

"Are you an angel? Because I got a call from heaven because they're missing one."

"Corniest flirt ever." She found a zebra and walked away.

"I got kids and they need food."

"I'll walk with you." A few minutes later, they saw the cubs waiting.

"Rusty! Food!"

"Kids, I would like you to meet, uh, what's your name?"

"Tasha."

"meet Tasha. These two are Tavo and Shela."

"Rusty's our guardian angel!" explained Tavo while eating.

"Guardian angel?"

"He's right."

"Proof." He took off his purple coller and dissapeared for a brief second.

"Happy?"

Her eyes widened.

"I'm impressed. Why you instead of another?"

"I gotta earn my wings and halo somehow." She sighed.

"I'm a rouge. So, can I stay here and help you?"

"By all means." He smiled just a little.

"What are you are smiling at?" He shook his head.

"Nothing. Hey, how about we all go to a place where dreams come true?"

"Where's that?" said Tavo.

"You're full of questions. A place I would call: Paradise in the Grasslands."

"You're going to help us find parents?" Said Tavo.

"Huh?"

"Our dream is to have parents." Shela explained it all.

"Yeah sure whatever, kid. I just want to get out of this baren dump."

The two adults led the way with the cubs behind.

"Rusty, are you just being a guardian to spend time with m-"

"No of course not. What do you find in a guy?"

"I want a male with breeding, humility, class and-" Rusty walked into a tree,"style." They both sat under the tree and saw the cubs playing by the water near-by.

Chapter 4:

After a few minutes of watching the cubs, Rusty spotted a crocidile looking and came at them. He ran over when they were screaming for help. He took off his coller, went on the crocidile , gave him a few scratches and made it ran away. When he was visible, he saw Tasha smiling a little bit, "Who's hungry?" she said. Everyone was. She came back a few minutes later with a gazelle. When everyone was eating, Rusty looked at them then slowly walked on a boulder. Tasha saw and followed.

"Hi, Tasha."

"Great job scaring off the crocidile."

"Thanks."

"You seem gloomy. You're an angel. Their angel."

"I'm no angel. I'm barely one."

"I don't understand."

"I broke every comandment and deadly sin known to man."

"You broke 15 comands everyone lives by?"

"I'm more like a demon. I'm only an angel to be in heaven."

"This was-"

"I think I have to go back. Even though I found someone special."

"Who might that be?"

"The only lion who knows my hearts feelings... you." She sighed and nuzzled his mane. The night was starry and Rusty looked at them even though everyone else was asleep.

"Rusty?" yawned Shela.

"What are you doing up, kid?"

"I'm not sleepy. You?"

"Looking up at the stars."

"Why?"

"Shela, look up, all the angels from heaven look down upon us."

"Really?" He nodded.

"If I'm gone and you're lonely. Just remember it and you'll have company every night."

"Thank you for the advice."

"You're welcome. Get back to sleep."

Chapter 5:

The next morning, everyone tried to look for parents but there wasn't a pride for miles around,"This only leaves me and you, Rusty." said Tasha.

"I'm an angel and don't know when I can go back to heaven."

"Enjoy the day and make everything worth while." He smiled.

"I can try that. I'll be right back. My cave is right near-by and I have to visit a friend." He ran and saw Juru laying down eating a bone.

"Rusty! How's guardian angel business?"

"Actully, it's fun. Best of all, I met the girl of my life."

"Who?"

"Tasha."

"Does she know you're an angel."

"Told her last night. I even told her stuff I can't tell you."

"Oh?"

"Like feelings and junk."

"When do you have to go back?"

"I think that flying nun that keeps following me will tell."

"Flying nun?"

"Don't ask. Some angel I first saw in heaven."

"Ok."

"Do you ever know what the stars hold?"

"Huh? I thought stars were balls of gas floating millions of miles away."

"I told a kid I'm guardianing is that the angels from heaven look upon on us."

"You're going soft on me!"

"I'm also a dad kind of." He was shocked.

"Me and Tasha were helping the kids look for parents. That didn't work, so there's only me and Tasha to look after them."

"Rusty, I thought you pretended to like them so you can go back." Rusty blew his top off.

"So what?! I don't even care! I'll abandon them somewhere, go someplace else and go to heaven and pretend this never happened! You happy about that plan?!" Juru had a tearful look.

"Look behind you." He did and found everybody backing way.

"No." He whispered.

"Everything you told me was a lie!" Tasha snarled.

"You're not a guardian angel!" yelled the cubs. Soon everyone ran off. Rusty dug his claws into the earth.

"Blast! What should I do, Juru?"

"You need to know. You're the guardian." Rusty ran in search of them.

"Rusty." the angel came.

"Not now."

"Something awful is going to happen."

"It already did. my newfound friends won't look at me."

"Befriend them quick. A bad thing is sure to happen!" She dissapeared.

"Creepy stalking flying nun." He shook his head and went back to

LOL! I thought casting Steele as Charlie in "Steele's Heaven" was new, but a lion-based version of All Dogs Go to Heaven is the craziest yet! In a good way, though. And not only that, but the story itself manages to be perfectly serious, even if the theology seems a bit off. All in all, well done. Is there going to be more? *favs*

It was pretty good. But I couldn't help but notice that most
of the story and diologue were identical to All Dogs go to
Heaven 1&2.... Did those films inspire you to write this or
something along those lines?
