Sinibie stretched and yawned. Another hard day it would be. She hasn't seen her brother Taska for months; but that's a good thing. He kicked her out of the Zerou pride for good, if she ever went back, they'd probobly kill her just for coming back.
She did find a new home, the Buffalo pride welcomed her and she ended up being head hunter. Life was good here, but she's still keeping an eye out for Taska. If he comes here, she'll be able to get this pride to hate him. They trust her and some look up to her. Even though she was a rouge, they look at her as an equal member of the pride.
"Sinibie? Are you awake?" It was Tarou, a small lion cub that normally asked her to play a game of tag or something. She was very usefull to the pride because of that reason too. "Me and my buds wanna learn to hunt!"
Sinibie sighed. "Okay. I'm coming."
She stepped outside her den. There was still that strange unsicure feeling tugging at her. She tryed to ignore it, but she couldn't help but feel like prey: as if to be stalked.
She shook her head. "Show me your stalking posision." Sinibie demanded at the three cubs.
They all crouched, seeming identical. She rolled her eyes. "First you need to keep you haunches closer to the ground! Antilope aren't stupid enough to think that's a lump in the ground!"
They all flattened themselves out. She smiled in saticefaction. "Now, stalk with me." She crawled forward on her belly, the three cubs at her side. "Now, lets say that tree over there is an antilope. It's pretty close now that we've stalked it successfully. Now, We bolt for it!" She and the cubs ran at it. "Faster! it's getting away!"
At last, the three cubs pounced on the tree. "We got it Sinibie!"
Sinibie smiled. "Very good!" She shook off, knowing her work here was done. She decided to go for a little walk to explore the plains; become more firmiliar with her living space. There was a lot of land between here and the pride she was banished from, but she still kept a sharp eye out for rivals.
Sinibie walked on for about an hour. She wasn't sure if she should hunt or not. SHe finally decided that she should just make herself useful and bring back a few hares. She stalked, slowly, consuntrating on her target. The hares rose, sensing something. She leapt, successfully killing three in two blows. Saticefied, she began to take her kill back to base.
On her way back, something strange cought Sinibie's eye. A large antilope freshly killed, but just lying there, untouched. She knew that this was quite an opportunity to take home a free, good kill, so she headed over to it and grasped it's neck-with her half filled mouth-to carry it back to base. She heard a brach snap behind her and before she could even turn around, another lion smashed into her.
Sinibie snarled and used her hind legs to send the other lion soring. She leapt to her feet, and roared visiously. She studied her attacker for a moment. "Taska!"
The lion slowly rose painfully to his paws. "Yes." He answered her shocked murmer.
"Why are you here?" Sinibie demanded.
"I'm here to kill you."
Sinibie smirked. "Okay, then, let's see it."
Taska raised his lip. He hauled himself at Sinibie.
She lashed out at him, managing to hit him smack in the face and sent him flying backwards.
"When did you get so string?" Taska asked horsley.
"My pride. They helped me regain my pride in myself and they look up to me. I've learned the strong ways of a leader."
"Leader?" Taska jumped back. "You? Why you?"
Sinibie laughed. "Because 'I am strong and brave' they say."
Taska smirked. "They must be pretty stupid lions then."
Sinibie felt an idea swell in her mind. "Well, we'll see about that after the war."
Taska raised an eyebrow. "What war?"
"What? You scared?"
"No! I just didn't know about it..."
"Well, tomorrow, at sundown. We gather here and fight. Your territory is mine if I win."
"And if I win?"
Sinibie hesitated. "You'll be able to kill me in front of my pride."
Taska smiled. "War it is then."
Sinibie paced back and forth after telling her pride about the war. All of her strongest males and females were practicing their fighting skills. She realized there was a problem: Taska's pride was bigger. But then again, her lions were stronger. She decided to rest. There was too much on her mind to fight well in a war.
"ATTACK!" That was the only thing Sinibie heard the entire time of the war. She was a bit nervous, but slammed commands at the lionesses fighting in the war. She finally caught Taska alone, looking around at the fighting Prides with a scared look on his face.
Sinibie smiled grimly. "I have you now!" She raced across the rock bridge that conected one of the bolders they were fighting on to the other. "Taska!" She screeched and before he could turn his head o face her all the way, she bareled him over. The two scrambled in a ball for a minute then seperated.
"Sinibie! You have to attack me by serprise to win a fight?" Taska growled.
Sinibie laughed. "I don't have to! I chose to give myself a headstart!"
Taska growled and leapt at her.
Sinibie rolled her eyes and moved out of the way as Taska went flying in another direction. "You're pathetic!"
He leapt at Sinibie again, this time managing to land on her back.
Sinibie growled and rolled onto her back to get Taska off. "You idiot!" She grasped his tail in her teeth and pulled it as hard as she could. "You'll never win!"
Taska roared in pain then whipped around and swatted Sinibie's face.
Sinibie shook her head and pawed at the scratch a bit then lashed out at Taska.
Taska managed to dodge her attack, only to be knocked off his feet in the second blow.
Taska hit the ground with a thud. "Okay! You win!" He growled, the breath nearly knocked out off him. He scrambled away and roared out at his followers, "RETREAT!"
Sinibie, saticefied and proud of her own followers for their fighting, sat where she stood, panting and called her group together.
She began to tell them her prize, when a dark shadow fell across her.
To be continued...
