I would like to thank Rarakie, for suggesting Kiara and Kovu's litter number of three, as well as suggesting the story line of the entire story put together. This is only part of what will be a story about Kovu and Kiara's sons and duaghter. Once the sections are all put together, you will be reading my typing and creating of Rarakie's storyline. This is only th begginning, so not much of the whole has taken place. This story's perspective is from ChangYwele's, the second son of Kovu and Kiara.

This is the story of Kovu and Kiara’s sons and daughter, the royal family of the Pridelands. The lions have been living peacefully with their new members, lionesses from a rival Pride. But one day, sorrow grips the Pride like the coldest of winters. Why have there been so many killings, and why has the rightful Prince to the Throne disappeared? No one but the enemy knows, and it is only a matter of time before they come forward to let the Pride know who he is… for he is one of them.

Kiara sprawled out on the ground and licked her paw, brushing it over her head, as she basked in the sunny morning. “It’s such a beautiful day,” she commented, looking up into the blue sky. Beside her, her mate, Kovu, shifted aound.

He nodded in agreement, then looked toward a tuft of grass that wriggled before him. The hunter stood up and crouched. “Shhh….”

Kiara rolled her eyes. “Watch the master,” she grumbled, remembering the day before they had brought their two Prides together as one, when Kovu had taken her for a hunting lesson.

Kovu wriggled forward slightly, then, just as he was about to pounce, his mate shouted,

“Look out!”

Kovu had begun to spring and had attempted to stop himself at the very same time. His result was seeing himself on the ground, staring at three lion cubs in front of him.

The female cub stepped forward and laughed, “Mom caught you again!” She resembled Kiara in almost every way. Many of the lionesses had commented on how alike they were. Yani’s eyes were a light red-brown, like Kiara’s and her coloration was exactly the same. The one difference that they all noticed was that she had longer whiskers, more like her father, Kovu.

Kiara nodded. “That’s right.”

Kovu growled and sat up. “Well, it was better than looking at the clouds.”

One of the males looked up. He was a light tan color, like that of his mother, but he had a small tuft of fur on his head. It was somewhat long and silky, so that it twitched softly whenever he moved. ChanYwele was the rightful cub to earn the position of King, when the time came. His eyes were slanted, and his eyepatch was even more so, making him appear much different than the other lions. Some believed he had gotten it from Kovu’s slanted eyes. Ywele was a smart little cub, and he was envied by the other two because of his position. “I like looking at the clouds,” he said quietly, “They form shapes. See that one?”

He flicked his tufted tail in the air, and said, “There. It looks like a little antelope, like it’s walking its first steps.”

“Actually,” the other cub interjected, “I think it looks like you when you’re trying to swim. See the open mouth, and the flailing paws?”

The other two cubs laughed, but Ywele just smiled. “Whatever you say, Kundu.”

Kundu looked away, still smiling. He resembled Kovu a great deal, almost as much as Yani resembling Kiara. He was a dark brown and his tuft on his head was much like Kovu’s had once been. His eyes were green and his paws were massive. His mane-to-be was a dark chocolate brown, as were his eyepatches.

Kiara stood up. “I think I hear my father again,” she said. Kovu paused, straining to hear. “Is that awful sound your father, Kiara?”

“Kovu!” Kiara leaped at him and wrangled him to the ground. But Kovu easily flipped her off. “Having Queen Nala as your mother,” he laughed, “I thought you could push me over.”

Kiara growled. “I could if I wanted to!” The small family laughed.

“Let’s go, then,” Ywele said, beginning to walk away.

“Whoa, where are you off to in such a hurry?” Kovu asked, sitting up again.

“We need to go,” the small cub answered.

“We are coming, O’ Wise One,” Kundu said, following his smaller brother away. Yani followed, and their parents brought up the rear.

“Have you ever thought,” Kovu whispered to Kiara, “That Ywele is a little small, for his age?”

“Yes, I’ve worried about that, too.”

“Will he be alright, becoming the King and everything?”

Kiara sighed and looked away, then stopped in her tracks. Kovu stopped as well. “Kovu, I thought he’d be alright. But now, I know he’s so small….”

Kovu sighed. “Well, at least he gets along withy. Many of the lionesses had commented on how alike they were. Yani’s eyes were a light red-brown, like Kiara’s and her coloration was exactly the same. the other two well enough. Oh come on, Kiara.” Kiara looked around. “He’ll be fine! Size doesn’t matter, he’ll get bigger!”

“Are you sure?”

Kovu nodded. “Yes. He will.” Kiara's mate seemed positive, now.

The two trudged onward, behind their three cubs, ChangYwele, Kundu and Yani.

Two months later, the cubs had grown in size. Kiara and kovu were both proud of their cubs. They had inherited many of their parents' features. They were kind and forgiving, and they even liked to be together, more so than many sibling cubs did. Yani was about half the size of her mother, Kiara, thought slightly longer. Her fur had lightened so that it matched that of the yellow grasses of the plains. Kundu, too, had matured. His eyes had tuned a darker green, and his mane had thickened out. He looked even more like Kovu. Some of the Pride's lions said that, if they only looked at Kundu's eyes, and compared them with Kovu's, they could see no difference. Yewle had also grown, and Kovu and Kiara were not as worried about them as they had been. Though he was still small, he had doubled his size, and his fur had changed to a darker color like that of his siblings'. His mane had also grown, like Kundu's.

Yani had found that Vitani, from the group of lionesses that had joined recently, was a great playmate. Yani and Vitani had left early in the morning to go and play in the grasses. Now, Kundu and Ywele were alone with eachother, wandering around the Pridelands, aparrently at loss of what to do. Ywele, however, was not at a loss for what to do. He was lost in his own thoughts. Ywele was aware of his siblings being very interested in what he would do in the future, when he became Prince of the
