Part one- Laird
“Dad come on,” A young cub called, chasing butterflies happily.
Kovu looked on regretfully; watching his son grow up was one of the hardest thing’s he had ever done.
“Be careful,” He called back “And don’t go to far!”
Laird was only 8 months but already thriving in the sun. He stopped to lick his paws and face, then got up and leapt at the butterflies.
“You’ll have to tell him eventually,” An old Simba smiled, stretching and walking towards Kovu.
“Huh, oh Simba, you made me jump.” Kovu gasped, looking down at Laird.
“Laird need’s to know, before it’s too late.” Simba continued, looking up at the sky with his big, dark eyes.
“I just can’t bring myself to do it, what with Kiara pregnant and all that,” Kovu sighed.
“He’s your son,” Simba said “Any day now he’ll grow up and start a new life, alone.”
Kovu gave a big sigh and leapt down off of the rock.
“Hey, dad look at me!” Laird chuckled pawing and growling at a butterfly.
“Listen son, we need to talk.” Kovu said, giving his son little eye contact.
“What, what is it?” Laird enquired getting up off of his back.
“I’ve been into your future, I’ve seen what you will be like.” Kovu sighed, still hardly looking at Laird.
“How do you mean?” Laird asked, “That’s impossible!”
“It isn’t with the stone’s of Rafiki.” Kovu replied
“I thought he had died,” Laird said, his head turned to one side.
“Yes, but he gave stone’s that let you see your loved one’s future.”
“What’s so bad about mine then?” Laird asked, his big eyes glistened against the sun.
“Son, my mother and father were both outsiders, and when you become an adult you become one too.” Kovu said, his eyes were now fully set on his son.
“Gosh, dad” Laird gasped, backing away from Kofu
“Where are you going?” Kovu asked
“I,I, you’re an outsider!” Laird was scared and confused, his ears were held back. He began backing away slowly.
“No, son, that’s past now!” Kovu called,
Laird began to run.
“SON!” Kovu screamed. He ran towards his son, trying to keep up with him.
“Go away!” Laird called back “No outsider is a father of mine!”
Kovu stopped, panting vigorously. He couldn’t believe what Laird just said. His own son calling him an outsider, it was just too much.
Part 2- The Outsider’s
Laird kept running, he didn’t care about the fact he was running out of breath and that he was getting tired, he wanted to get away from his father.
He ran faster and faster, his breath’s getting shorter.
THUMP!
“Wow, hold up there big guy!”
Laird looked up, a male lion, who seemed older than himself was looking down at him, his big black eye’s set upon his own.
“Errr, my, my, my name is Laird,” He stuttered
“Well, nice to meet you,” He continued, “My name is Xavier.”
Xavier’s big black mane glistened against the sun, his big, dark paws pushed lightly against little Laird’s chest.
“Why don’t I show you to my family,”
“My da-” Laird stopped
“What?” Xavier asked, standing tall and proud
“Nothing.” Laird didn’t want to talk about his father anymore. He didn’t like it.
“Come on,” Xavier began walking towards a huge cliff.
“Where are we going?” Laird asked, looking around at all the animal bones.
“We’re going to my place!” Xavier called “Now keep up!”
After a short walk they arrived at the cliff’s entrance.
“MUM!” Xavier called “MUM!”
“Mum isn’t home!” A Lioness, who seemed the same age as Xavier, said.
“Oh, Taila,” Xavier’s mumbled “WHERE IS SHE THEN?”
“Out checking up on, Mr Kovu!” Taila smirked
“Huh!” Laird gasped “What, what do you mean?”
Laird began to get worried; he pulled his ears backward and began to step slowly away from them.
“Oh, don’t go!” Taila smirked “Xavier, shut the gates!”
“No!!!” Laird screamed he ran to the door but Xavier blocked his way. “Dad!!!”
“Oh that’s right, your Kofu’s kid” Xavier grinned, showing all his white canines.
“LET ME GO!” Laird began to whimper.
But before he could move, he felt himself being lifted off of the ground.
“Put him in the hole!” Taila called
Xavier carried him towards a deep, dark hole and dropped him.
“ARGHHHH!” Laird yelled as he fell down the hole.
Finally he landed with a crunch.
“PLEASE LET ME GO!” He cried, he began pacing around the hole, his ears were held tightly backwards.
“This is hopeless! I should’ve never followed him, I should have stayed with dad!” Laird whined and he curled up into the side of the hole.
Part 3- Taila’s Plan
“Where did he go?” Kiara asked, pacing around pride rock.
“I don’t know!” Kovu yelled, “He called me an outsider!”
It fell silent, Kiara flopped onto the ground, her belly was starting to get very heavy.
“I think there’s more than one this time.” She panted, her pinked tongue covered in glistening saliva.
Kovu nuzzled her.
“I’m going to find him.” He whispered delicately into her ears.
He gave her one finally nuzzle and set off. Hopping down off of pride rock and starting to run through the grasslands.

“So the plan is set then, we leave tonight, those stone’s will be ours!” Taila cackled
“Why don’t we just leave now?” Xavier asked
“You idiot that’s a- great idea!” Taila exclaimed, giving her younger brother a noogie
“Ok, Ow, yes thank you, WATCH THE HAIR!” Xavier complained.
They set off for pride rock, grunting with excitement as they ran.
“Help!” Laid whined “Please!!”
“There’s no point in whining!”
Laird jumped.
Big green eye’s shone in one of the corner’s of the hole.
“Who are you?” Laird asked, slowly walking towards the eyes.
“My name is Dream” It replied, the voice sounded about the same age as Laird.
“Can you come out?” Laird asked he began to sniff the ground where Dream was.
“Yes, I can!” Dream said, first a paw came out into the light, then a magnificent white body, she stood tall and proud, smiling at Laird.
“Your voice sounds younger than you look!” Laird gasped
“I have drunk the elixir of life.” She smiled
Laird was in ore over her grace and beauty.
“Well, can you help me get out of here?” Laird asked, staring up towards Dream.
“Possibly,” She said, no expression on her face.
“Please, I need to see my dad!” He cried.
“Stand in the centre then!” Dream replied her huge paws began to knead at the ground.
Laird stepped back, looking up at were Xavier had dropped him
From.
“Now close your eye’s!” Dream smiled “And good luck!”
“Thank you,” Laird whispered “Thank you Dream!” Laird was lifted up off of the ground by a white light and landed quietly onto the ground, he ran to the edge of the hole
“Goodbye!” He called.
Laird quickly ran out, making his way towards Pride Rock.
Little did he know how much trouble his father was in.
Part 4- New enemies.
“What do you outsiders want?” Kovu yelled
“Outsiders!” Xavier smirked “That’s rich!”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Kovu asked
“Oh come on!” Taila said “We all know your past!”
Taila and Xavier began to circle Kovu, growling and grunting.
Kovu’s breathing got louder and quicker he was scared.
Suddenly little Laird ran towards his dad.
“Son!” Kovu smiled, nuzzling him.
“Dad, I’m sorry!” Laird smiled, purring.
“EXCUSE ME! Can we keep the family reunion for later?!” Xavier yelled
“Now, all you have to do is give us the stone’s and we’ll let you go!” Taila said, softly a huge smirk spread across her face.
“I am not giving you those stones! You’ve seen what they can do!” Kofu complained.
“Fine then,” Xavier said “You’ll just have to die!”
“Son move!” Kofu yelled, Laird ran for cover as Xavier leapt onto his dad.
“DAD!” He yelled.
Kovu fought back with all his might, Xavier was only a teen so had a lot more strength and energy than he did.
Xavier began digging his claws into Kovu’s back, launching his head at his neck, blood dripped from the area around his eye were Kovu had scratched him.
“Give us the stone’s!” He snarled, clawing at Kovu’s body
“NEVER!” Kovu yelled, and with one almighty forced he leapt up and threw Xavier to the ground.
“No!” Taila yelled, she ran to her motionless brother “Wake up!” She began pawing at his head.
“I’m sorry,” Kovu mumbled “But I did-”
“What’s done is done,” Taila sighed, she pulled Xavier’s body up onto her back and slowly walked away.
“Son!” Kofu called, Laird ran out giving him a big
