Those were very vital lessons to learn at a young age and it is a shame that we forgot about them growing up. But eventually it came back to us when we needed it most and now we stand here on the greener grass once again. He should therefore be happy for us, and that is what counts."
"Yes, I suppose you're right." Vitani responded, taking in these wise words to the heart once again.
"And there will always be someone out there for you. You just have to keep your head held high, be strong, and go and find him. As long as you find happiness, you will live well."
Vitani further nodded her head in agreeement.
"I understand, brother, and I promise that I will."
"Very good, sister."
Vitani then brightened up as she now felt better through this much-needed talk with someone who she could trust. She then came up to embrace her brother, and he lovingly returned it. As siblings, they still loved each other a lot and they let it show from this.
After the embrace lasted for ten seconds, they let it go and Kovu gave the signal to turn in for the night by nudging his head towards Pride Rock.
"Come now, Vitani, time to get some sleep. It is getting late."
"Okay." The lioness obliged as she then got up onto to her paws once again and walked back towards the entrance to Pride Rock with her brother. As they were walking, she looked at him one more time.
"Thank you." She said to him in appreciation for his help to her.
"You're very welcome." He responded, looking at her with a smile and feeling proud of the help and support that he had provided to her tonight. He knew now that his compassion had been praised.
Side by side, they continued on to the nearby den inside the large rock, where once inside, they would be ready to go to sleep and refresh themselves for the next day.

At that moment, in the open grasslands almost directly on the south Kenyan/Tanzanian border, a sleek-looking outsider lioness was walking alone. It was indeed Zira, who, as of a couple of days ago, survived her fall into the fast flowing river right after her defeat by both Simba's and her own pride after they agreed to unite as one and halt the war between them.
She was now on a journey to find where she needed to go, but, determined to do so, she was also unsure of how to find it. She then stopped in her tracks and looked up to the night sky, where the stars were very clear, and remembered that her mate, Scar, was up in the stars along with the Great Kings of the Past; despite the fact that he was evil. She knew that she needed his guidance, so she spoke up in a slightly desperate and melancholy voice:
"Scar, my beloved, I believe our son is alive and I know what I have to do to get the Pride Lands back into it's rightful paws, but I need your help to find where he is. Please come to me."
She then continued to look into the night sky for any sign of change, even though there really was no sign of clouds, but her hopes remained high because she remembered that right before her mate died, Scar had indeed told her that whenever she needed guidance, he would always come to her call. Such as when Mufasa had once told his own son about the Great Kings and how they would watch over everyone from the stars. His brother would also be eligible as he was also now one of them despite the irony of his dark side.
The sound of thunder could suddenly be heard in the distant sky in the north east, and storm clouds appeared from out of nowhere in that direction. They got larger and larger until a familiar voice seemed to echo over the land:
"Zira..." Came the voice of the deceased Scar, and his face began to take shape in the clouds.
"Scar?" Zira responded in hope and slight emotion because she was about to see the face of her beloved mate once more.
Sure enough, Scar fully emerged amongst the grey moisture in the sky and looked at his mate with a small smile, but which also contained light melancholy because he also missed her. Despite this, he remained strong inside as he began to speak:
"My sweet Zira, you are correct about our son. He is still living and is a lot closer than you believe. He is in Tsavo National Park in the north east and is only a two day travel away. As the morning sun rises, follow the direction to its right side. You will eventually come to a set of hills, and Kufuzu's land is on the other side. You should have no troubles, but if you do end up losing your way, you will feel my guidance."
"Thank you, Scar." Zira gratefully responded. She also then went sad at the thought of her deceased son. "By the way, how is my poor Nuka?"
"He is happy where he is now." Scar replied. "He misses you a lot but is also proud of what he did for you. Even though he says that he failed you, he did try very hard, and I, for one, am proud of his will and determination to succeed us. You should also be."
"I certainly am." Zira said with a smile, remembering when Nuka attempted to chase after and kill Simba when the king was trying to escape from the ambush from the then Outsiders by climbing the unstable pile of logs that were damming the river. But this only led to Nuka losing his foothold on the logs and falling back down the pile, to then having a big log hit him hard and 'encase' him underneath the wood. Then, when Zira lifted enough logs off to only see her eldest son's face, he coughed and spluttered as the weight of the logs was cutting off his air supply, but he still managed to utter words to his mother as he was about to breathe his last breaths:
"I'm sorry, mother..." Nuka's croaky and shaky voice directed towards Zira. "I tried."
"Shhhh..." Zira responded, scared for her son but still trying to comfort him as she gently grabbed hold of his jaw.
"Well..." Nuka rasped again. "I finally got your attention, didn't I?"
Zira's response came without words as she forced a simple smile. She was very happy that her eldest son had proved himself to her, and she began to regret all the times that she had ignored him because she was so busy training Kovu to hate and kill. She now understood that Nuka wanted to be the one to succeed in Scar's honour. She thought that even if he couldn't have been, at least he gave it his best shot for her and that was all that mattered.
Nuka was able to force a smile of his own back to his mother. Even though he was about to pass, he was now feeling happier than he had ever felt in his life.
"D-d-didn't I...?" Was the last words he was able to breathe as he closed his eyes and passed away before his mother. Zira then gasped and looked on in sorrow at her now deceased son; her daughter Vitani also joining her side to share the mourning.
"Nuka..." Vitani said quietly and sadly as she and her mother bowed their heads and gently wept at their loss.
"Could you please tell him..." Zira continued speaking to Scar after the thoughts of her son. "...that I am very sorry for the lack of attention and at times occasional cursing. I know now that he was very willing to make me and the rest of us proud if he had only gotten his chance. He took it with both paws when it came and he did not disappoint even after he failed. I miss him as much as I miss you, Scar." The dark-hearted outsider lioness, as evil as she was, was becoming very emotional at this time and was very much on the verge of tears.
Scar smiled as his beloved mate said this, and he knew that it would only be fair to help open her heart by giving her something special.
"You can tell him this yourself, Zira." Was all that he responded before another spirited cloud figure appeared right next to him almost immediately.
Zira's eyes and mouth opened wide and her face turned into both a happy and sad expression as she stared at this familiar figure in the sky. It was her very deceased son, Nuka, himself. As his scruffy-furred appearance became visible in the storm-looking clouds, he looked at her with a light smile.
"Hello, mother." He began in a mellow voice. "It is lovely to see you again."
"Oh, my dear Nuka!" Zira exclaimed in joyful awe. "I never thought I would ever see your face again. I cannot tell you how much it means to me!"
"You don't have to, mother." Her son replied. "I can already see it. It means a lot to me as well. I just hope that my demise didn't cause you too much distress. Even so, to hear you say those words that you just said to my father mean even more to me and I am just so happy that I did what I could do for you, for Scar, and for our pride. I am very sorry if I failed you."
"You never did, my son." Zira said. "You were always very determined to succeed in your father's honour and you never showed any sign of giving in to the other side."
"Yes, but I also hope you understand that physically you were not always the strongest lion that we had, so I had to chose someone who was capable of overcoming any lion or lioness in a fight." Scar added, directing his words towards Nuka. "You did not quite have that, but what you did have is the right mind and will, so you should still feel proud all the same."
"I understand, father." Nuka responded, well aware of his physical weakness but taking it on the chin. "And yes, I am just proud that I could have helped out in the best way I knew how, so thank you; both of you."
Both Zira and Scar said nothing as they both smiled admirably at their son.
"But I also want
