~~The sun rose and most of the pride landers had already left pride rock and started to hunt or start their daily duties, but one lioness stayed inside in the shadows of the den.

“Nala” yelled Sarafina
“Yes mother” Nala replied
“You have to get up a get some exercise you have been coped up in here for days now and it’s not healthy” Sarafina said in a stern motherly tone
“Okay mother, as you wish” Nala grumbled

Sarafina hates seeing her daughter like this, it reminds her of when scar ruled and how she had to hide Nala from him. She knew times had been hard for Nala in the last month from when Simba was killed by a pride of male lions who wandered into the pride lands, and when Kiara was taken by the remaining outlanders, Nala also struggled when Kovu was killed by the falling rocks just days after Kiara’s disappearance.
Nala still remains queen but knew anyone could challenge her as she is not the rightful heir, Sarafina and the barely alive Sarabi have spoken on what to do but both of them are still struggling on what to do next. After her talk with Sarabi, Sarafina thought that Rafiki will know what to do so she slowly travelled to his tree, the walk was long as she is an old lioness and barely has no energy left. She arrived to his tree just before nightfall and explained to the old Sherman what’s been happening. Rafiki paused for a short while and then after a long sigh he thought she should tell Sarafina the truth.

“Sarafina I have kept a big secret from the pride and now is the right time to share” Rafiki said
“What is this about, don’t lead me off the topic” Sarafina replied
“Okay, there is another heir to the throne living in the pride lands” Rafiki mumbled out

Sarafina was in shock she wasn’t sure who this lion could be and was quickly scanning through the lions in her head to figure out who it could be. Rafiki said it could be dangerous to let this lion rule and this could been another downfall for the pride lands. Sarafina was still confused to who it could be at that moment but Rafiki shouted out “Vitani”
Sarafina was shocked and still confused “how is Vitani the heir she is Zira’s daughter and the father was the lonely rogue that we took in while scar ruled”
Rafiki proceeded to tell her Vitani’s backstory and who her real parents were.

“Sarafina do you remember when scar ruled and it was that cloudy day so we decided to send Nala off to get help? Well Tama was the one that had to “distract scar” and well Scar took it too far”
Sarafina still couldn’t believe it and was distraught that young tama had to go through that, Rafiki continued to tell her how Vitani became into Zira’s care. “ Tama hid her pregnancy well and when she was due Zira found her in the back cave and surprisingly help her, mainly because Zira knew if she had a boy Zira could take it as her own and tell Scar she produced a healthy boy, but she had a girl Shetani. But little did Zira and Tama knew Scar entered the den and saw the little girl, he was furious and demanded to know who’s she is, Tama confessed and with one strike Scar killed Tama for lying to him and not producing a male, he was about to kill Shetani but Zira stopped him saying she will train her and make her become a loyal killer. Scar agreed and with that Zira renamed her Vitani and Scar told the hyenas to dispose of Tama’s body.”

Sarafina was in tears realising this is how Tama actually died and didn’t just die from an infection, Sarafina was worried that if she told Vitani that she is the heir she might kick us out and invite the outsiders to come in. But Vitani has changed her and Kiara are best friends Vitani helps out the most and is now one of the most loyal lioness to Nala and Kiara.
Sarafina left Rafiki’s tree and made her way back to pride rock and snuck back beside Nala trying not to wake anyone up. The sun rose and Sarafina and Sarabi went for a morning walk down to the waterhole to discuss what’s happening. Sarafina told Sarabi what had happened and Sarabi was in shock and disbelief of the news.
“We have to keep this a secret Sarabi well atleast until we find Nala” Sarafina whispered
“Secrets safe with me Fina” Sarabi replied

“What secret!!” yelled an excited Kula
“Uhh nothing Kula” said a startled Sarabi
“ohh come on please I won’t tell anyone’ Kula moaned
“Sorry Kula but come back to pride rock and you will soon find out” Sarafina said

Kula was Nala’s best friend since cub hood and is the real mother of Kovu, her mate Chumvi was exiled by scar and hasn’t return since. Kula was distraught by Kovu’s death as she just got to get to know him. Even though that got her down she was a cheerful lioness and liked to no everyones business.

After talking it through with Nala the 3 lioness decided it was time for them to tell Vitani the truth so they walked to her as she was getting ready for the first hunt of the day. She seemed happy today as she also has been quite down after Kiara’s disappearance and Kovu’s death. 

Sarafina explained Vitani’s backstory to her and how she was the new heir to the throne. Vitani looked stunned she paused for a few minutes and reflecting on how this was Zira’s dream, and how Nuka’s death was for nothing. She snapped out of it and looked straight at Nala

“I don’t think I can do this Nala” Vitani said worriedly 
“Vitani we will help you as much as we can” Nala replied
Vitani’s eyes had widened, she scanned the pride lands and looked back at each of the former outlanders and then looked back at Sarabi, Sarafina who looked worried, Nala who had a motherly look her face and Kula who wasn’t far behind them smiling but then she looked over the land and with a wide smile she announced in a loud voice

“It’s time for a new era”
