The sun removed the cloak of the blissfull land of the savannah. The animals were gathering...Rafiki had told them to come to Pride Rock as Nala had given birth to a healhy boy cub at midnight. The cub was apperntly named Kopa, but for some odd reason Nala hadn't let Rafiki or even Simba see him yet.

The animals trooped to their king in long lines, all excitedly awating to see the cub.

But Nala was dreading it. She had her paws sheilding the wailing cub, keeping him protected from unwanted eyes. 'It's okay, my Kopa. I will not let him hurt you.' she whispered, her voice soothing his bawling. He settled down to sleep, and he purred a little. Simba arrived in the cave, a joyous smile painted on his youthful face. 'Can I see him now?' he asked. Nala shook her head.

'Don't wanna unsettle him.' she muttered.

'Well you're going to have to unsettle him, because the animals are gathering.' Simba raised an eyebrow. Nala looked horrified.

'No! He...er... I think he's to young!' She lied unconvincingly. Simba flattened his ears and bared his teeth.

'Don't give me that rubbish. Nala, what is it? Is he sick?' SImba questioned.

Nala perked up. 'Yes! Very sick. He's got a high temprature and...'

'Let Rafiki see him then!' Simba said cunningly.

'NO!' Nala shreiked, tears welling in her eyes.

'Right! That's IT!' Simba growled, and he tore back Nala's arm so he could see his cub at last. But it wasn't his cub. Scar traits shone through: the cub had a pale orangey-brown coat with a black outlander nose. When the cub opened his eyes, Simba gasped. One eye of the cub was blue 9Nala's eye clour) but the other was a vibrant green. Simba took a few paces backwards.

'I couldn't tell you...I just couldn't...' Nala bowed her head, ashamed as Simba shot her a disgusted look.

'You mated...with Scar?!' He spat the words like they were poison. Nala shook her head rapidly as her mate paced up and down the cave, muttering curses. 'No...I was forced to! You were so happy becoming a father...I didn't want to spoilt it for you!'

'Oh so you lied to me?!'

'No...well yes...but you have to understand! The cub is so innocent...don't...'

'Hurt him? I won't do that! I'll KILL him!' Simba roared. nala turned cold and protective. It was still her cub after all. She snarled and swiped a paw across his face. Blood trickled down Simba's left cheek. He roared in pain, anger, and disgust. 'I'll get that vermin!'

By now the pair had caused quite a racket. Sarabi, Simba's awesome mother, and Sarafiina, her friend and Nala's mother, had come to see what they were arguing about. Simba expected them to be speechless when the saw Kopa: infurated too. But to his dismay and surprise they bowed their heads.

'What? You knew?' he roared.

'We were hoping that it was your cub...' Sarafina said timdily.

'Simba, stop over reacting!' Sarabi ordered him in a firm but soothing voice.

'The worlds gone mad. My mate has had a cub that isn't mine! Your ment to be my mother!' he hissed, and in rage he left Pride Rock to clear his head.

                                                                     **

'Nala, hush. Stop your crying.' Sarafina sighed, mopping up her daughters tears. Sarabi was cradling little Kopa, who was sleeping again quite soundly now his step father had gone. 'Simba will come round. You know what he's like. I bet you he will come back all smiles, say sorry and accept Kopa. He will.' Sarabi assured her.

And she was right.

Simba returned his eyes bloodshot, his cheeks tearstained. 'I'm sorry. I love Kopa. Lets pretend that he's my son, for the Kingdoms' sake. Sorry.' he muttered, glaring aat the cub.

Nala had thought Simba was fine with Kopa. She even hoped he'd forgotten Kopa was Scar's son.

But Simba hadn't forgotten. He had hatched a plan. One boiling hot day, Simba asked to take Kopa on a walk to show him his kingdom. Nala was lazing in the sun...she wouldn't notice. Simba lead the cub who was babbling happily to himself to a secluded area near the brink of the Outlands. Simba looked around his shoulder like a crook. A loud growl drummed into Simba's throat, getting so loud it hurt Kopa's ears.

'Daddy...what're you doing?'

'I...am NOT....your ftaher!' Simba spat and he unsheated his claws, ripping the poor cubs chest. The cub cried,, but was to petrified to run. He was helpess. Simba used his mighty jaws to grab the defensless Kopa's head in his grip. He bit down hard, and Kopa's body became lifeless as his brain, bone and blood oozed out. Simba tossed Kopa's body to the Outlands, so it loked like Zira had done it. Simba lightly scratched himslef, dabbed the blood from his mouth and smeared it on his own body. He put on a limp and hobbled back to Pride Rock.

'Gosh!' Nala gasped as she saw Simba. The Pride fretted over him, dabbing his "wounds".

'Where's Kopa?' Nala swallowed, dreading the answer. Simba "panted."

'I tried. I really did. Zira's too strong...' he lied. His eyes smirked and smirked, but his mouth pouted.

'Zira!' Nala wept. 'How could she?! How could anyone kill my sweet little Kopa?'

Simba didn't feel guilty.

If only Nala knew the truth...
