So it seems the same around the beginning, until Vitani first speaks!
“Oh, hey, Tani!” said Nuka, “Where’s little termite Kovu? The chosen one!”
He snapped the root Vitani was chewing and she went flying to the ground.
“Nuka! Never mind him!” she said, “I hope you left him all alone out there!”
“Hey, of course I did!” answered Nuka, “And mother doesn’t need to get angry, that little termite has to learn sometime to be on his own!”
“Mother’s still going to be mad,” said Vitani, “we were suppose to watch him.”
“Why would you care?” asked Nuka, “I should be the king! I’m the oldest, I’m the strongest-oh these termites!”
Vitani sighed.
“We could both be leaders, if she’d just give us a chance!” said Nuka.
“Yeah, right,” answered Vitani, “Why don’t you tell that to her?”
“Yeah? Don’t think I won’t!”
And then Zira came. Vitani and Nuka both came and tried to please Zira but he was cross.
“Hey, Vitani!” said Kovu when he was put down, “Want to fight?”
“Of course not, you little termite!” said Vitani.
Zira turned to Nuka and Vitani.
“You two were supposed to be watching him!”
Nuka and Vitani backed away. Kovu started saying it was his fault. He was about to explain that he wanted to be friends with Kiara, but Zira guessed before he could finish. Soon Zira had a plan. She took Kovu to the cave.
“The chosen one,” Vitani and Nuka both said.
Zira wanted Kovu to become the king. She sang, but Nuka and Vitani thought this was ridiculous. They looked at Kovu sleeping.
“Sleep you little termite,” said Nuka.
“Oh we mean sweet precious thing,” Vitani said.
Another lioness came and said, “One day when you’re big and strong-“
Vitani and Nuka were about to do something to her, but they looked up to Zira.
Vitani and Nuka didn’t approve of Kovu being king. Vitani wanted to be queen, and Nuka wanted to be king.

Mufasa showed Rafiki that Kovu and Kiara should be together.

But Kovu wasn’t that little cub anymore. He was now strong and not as harmless as he was then. Zira asked him things, while Vitani and Nuka watched from a cave, disapproving him.

Kiara was going to go hunting, and Nuka and Vitani were supposed to set the place on fire, so Kovu could save her. Vitani and Nuka went to where they were supposed to get the fire. “I don’t see why we have to be here,” said Nuka, “If Kovu’s so special he can do it on his own. We never even had a chance!”
Vitani smiled.
“We do have the chance,” she said, “We don’t have to listen to mother or Kovu. If you save Kiara, you can get closer to Simba. We’ll be the King and Queen!”
Nuka got excited. “Really?” he asked, “But what would we do about mother and Kovu?”
“Exile them again,” said Vitani, “Only this time much further away!”
“Oh this is great! But if we’re King and Queen, wouldn’t we have to be married? We’re brother and sister!”
“We won’t be married,” said Vitani, “Why do you have to be married to be a leader. Things will be different. The dawn of a new generation!”
She started setting fire to around where Nuka was. He moved away.
“I’ll burn the place, Nuka!” Vitani shouted, “You get ready to save Kiara!”
Vitani laughed a Zira-like laugh.

After a lot of fire had been spread, Zira was ready to tell Kovu to go save Kiara. But suddenly they saw Nuka leaping over the flames, chasing after Kiara. He found Kiara collapsed, and brought her away from the fire.
So Nuka came home with Kiara to pride rock. That night, Zira and Kovu were angry. Zira went right over to Nuka and chased him off. She told Kovu to go in his place. She hoped Simba wouldn’t notice that it was a different lion.

Simba didn’t notice. Kiara started to fall for Kovu. And Kovu had fun with Kiara. He chased birds with her, Timon, and Pumbaa. He watched the stars. He had a great time in Upendi. When he went to Pride Rock, and Simba let him in. Nuka was watching. “Zira’s plan is ruined! Kovu didn’t attack Simba!” he said. He ran off to Vitani. Vitani was happy. “But are you sure?” she asked.
“I saw it with my own eyes,” said Nuka.
“Both our and mother’s plan is destroyed, but we could still ambush Simba!”
So one morning Simba took Kovu for a walk. And then Nuka, Vitani, and a few lionesses that had joined them came. Kovu was surprised. He expected that if anyone would ambush them it would be Zira. But Zira did come! She had the same idea as Vitani! She had some lionesses with her too!
“Vitani!” she said, “What are you doing here?”
Vitani didn’t answer her mother. All she said was, “Attack!”
Both teams attacked Simba. Zira didn’t want Vitani to win. Soon, Simba started climbing up some logs. Zira leaped after him onto the logs. “I’ll do instead of you, Vitani!” she shouted. Vitani got cross. Zira started climbing further up. “Hey, Vitani, are you watching?” she asked, “I’m not doing it for you, I’m doing it for me!”
She grabbed Simba’s leg. But she started falling. Vitani and Nuka got worried. Zira fell, and then more logs came down. Kovu came to help Zira. But Vitani pushed him out the way. Vitani found Zira. “Mother!” she said.
“I’m sorry, Vitani,” said Zira. Nuka came. “Mother!” He sighed.

Meanwhile Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa and Kiara had found Simba.

Back with Vitani, all the lions were sad. Then Vitani got angry. “You!” she said to Kovu. She swiped Kovu. “What have you done?” She said.
Kovu didn’t understand.
“If you weren’t supposed to follow in Scar’s paw prints, Nuka could be king, and this would not have happened! Mother is dead because of you!”
“No,” said Kovu.
“You killed your own mother!”
“No!” Kovu ran off.
“Let him go!” said Vitani, stopping Nuka from wanted to go after Kovu. She explained what they should do.

Kovu came back to Pride Rock, where animals had gathered. Kiara wanted him to stay, but Simba exiled him. Kiara escaped and went looking for him. They were happy when they found each other. Kovu wanted to go off and start a pride, but Kiara wanted to go back.

Vitani and her team were coming to the Pride Lands. Zazu told Simba they were coming and they got ready.
“It’s over, Simba!” said Vitani.
Soon, the fight started. Kovu and Kiara were heading back. Vitani saw Nala below her. “Where’s your pretty daughter, Nala?” she teased. “Vitani!” shouted Nala. Vitani jumped down on Nala. “What do we do? What do we do?” asked Pumbaa. “You know our motto,” said Timon, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going, that’s our motto!”
“I thought our motto was Hakuna Matata!”
“Pumbaa, would you stop living in the past,” said Timon, “This is the sequel!”

Finally, Kiara and Kovu come. After some words from Kiara, Vitani’s team want to stop, except Vitani and Nuka. So they just try to leap onto Simba, but Kiara pushes them away. They go down a cliff. Nuka and Vitani are hanging close together.
“Nuka and Vitani, give me your paws,” said Kiara. But Vitani just swipes her. “Guys, come on!” said Kiara, “I’ll help you.”
Vitani looks down, then reaches her paw out to Kiara. Nuka got cross, and smacked her paw, but that causes them to fall! Kiara looked down, and saw their paws in the water. But the fight is over, and soon they are happy.

But, Nuka and Vitani are alive! So is Zira. But they all went far away and didn’t cause any more trouble for Simba’s Pride.
