It was a dark, stormy night in the Pridelands. Simba and Nala, Kovu and Kiara, Timon and Pumbaa and all the other lions were asleep, apart from Vitani. Vitani was lying their on the dry ground of Pride Rock sighing with a couple of tears rolling down her face, she was still heartbroken about Kopa's death. Vitani stopped with her weeping and sighing and listened, she heard footsteps getting closer and closer to her... Then a head peeped round the corner of where Vitani was sleeping, it was Kiara. Kiara came and sat down next to Vitani, "Cold night... huh?" Kiara said, trying to cheer Vitani up, "Yeah... I'm freezing," Vitani pretended to shiver and then sighed once more, Kiara frowned and looked at Vitani, "Vitani... Are you still upset about Kopa?" Kiara aked Vitani in a sweet voice, Vitani looked at Kiara, "yes... I'm more than upset though... I'm heartbroken," Vitani burst into tears, Kiara shuffled up closer to Vitani, hugged her and tried to cheer her up, "listen Vitani, why don't you come and sleep with us, if you want to of course!" Vitani looked up at Kiara again with a tear rolling down her cheek, she tried to smile, "I'd like that," Vitani got up off the floor and went into the den where Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa and Kovu were sleeping, "There's a space over there by Timon and Pumbaa, why don't you go and sleep there... Make your self comfy," Kiara said politly to Vitani, Vitani looked back and smiled, "Okay... Thanks Kiara," Vitani went to where she was sleeping and flopped on the ground, Kiara yawned and replied, "My pleasure Vitani, I didn't want you to be alone in that den weeping and sighing," Kiara flopped back onto the ground and fell asleep, Vitani looked up at the stars, "I miss you Kopa... And i'll always, always love you," Vitani looked back down at the ground and put her head down, closed her eyes and fell asleep...

The next morning was bright and sunny, Kiara and Kovu were sitting down at the top of Pride Rock both smiling and nuzzling eachother. Vitani heard them and wondered what was going on, so she got up and walked outside to Kovu and Kiara, "whats going on? Why are you so happy?" Vitani asked in a tired voice, Kiara and Kovu turned and stood up to face Vitani, Kiara finding it hard to get up off the ground, "Why, Kiara is excpecting cubs!" Kovu replied in a very jolly attitude, Vitani looked at them shocked, "WHAT! Kiara you're pregnant! That means Kopa and I will proably never be King and Queen of Pride Rock," Vitani frowned and side, Kovu and Kiara also stopped smiling and giggling and frowned aswell, Kiara sighed, "Listen Vitani, Kopa is dead... We all no that, I'm sorry Vitani but... There's nothing we can do," Kiara turned her back and sat down again, Kovu prodded up to Vitani and said, "Kiara's right, there's nothing we can do about death, as Simba says, it's all part of the circle of life... Everyone has to die... Sorry Vitani," Kovu also turned his back and sat down by kiara once again and started nuzzling her, Vitani, looking angry, ran back into Pride Rock crying, she lay down and sobbed, "fine, if they don't belive me... then... then, i'll go find Kopa myself," Vitani got up and started planning her trip to find Kopa, she planned to leave on Sunday night while everyone was asleep. Later that day, Simba, Nala, Sarabi and Sarafina all went into Pride Rock, Vitani didn't know what was going on, but as soon as she walked in she new... Kiara had given birth to a beautiful cub, Vitani pushed in to see the cub and frowned, then she whispered in the cubs ear, "you will never be King OR Queen... I'll be the Queen and Kopa will be the King," Vitani lifted her head and over her head was Kovu's head, he seemed angry. Kovu had heard everything Vitani said, "Vitani! How dare you! We already told you... Kopa... Is... DEAD!" Kovu turned and gently nuzzled the cubs head, Vitani turned and went to the back where she couldn't see the cub, Simba asked Kiara if it was male or female, Kiara replied, "It's a male," Kiara licked the cubs head, Kovu looked at Kiara, he asked, "What shall we name him?" Kiara smiled, "hmmm... how about... Kivu!" Kovu looked confused, "Kivu?!" Kiara giggled, "it's a cross between your name and my name, the Ki is for my name and the Vu is for your name," Kovu laughed and smiled at Kiara, "okay then," they both nuzzled eachother, Vitani looked back at them, it remined her of Kopa, the she fell in love with, the one who died in love with her, Vitani ran out of Pride Rock to the waterhole, she saw Timon and Pumbaa there, she tried to attack them, "Hehehe... I'll let all my anger out on these two," Vitani pounced on Pumbaa, "HELP! TIMON! HHHHEEELLPPPP!!!" Timon kicked Vitani off Pumbaa and looked up, "H-hi l-l-l-lioness w-we best be--" The two ran off before thwy could even finish... Vitani was their all on her own...

That night Vitani set off on her journy to find Kopa, she was scared. Vitani kept hearing noises and Kopa in her mind. She started to how she thought Kopa felt when he was attacked and killed by her mother, Zira. Later that night she found a small rock den next to a big oak tree, Vitani decided to sleep there for the night. When she walked in she found a young lioness cub lying on the cold, damp ground. Vitani walked closer and nudged the young lioness, the liones turned and looked up, "w-w-who are y-you?" The cub shivered and and riggled, "I'm Vitani, whats your name?" The cub managed to stand up, "I'm Kula," The cub smiled and so did Vitani, "what are you doing in this cold, damp den? Where's your mother young cub?" Vitani asked politly, the cub sighed, "My mother abandoned me when she went off with her new mate, Ni," Vitani nuzzled the cub to make her feel better, "so you're here all on your own?" Kula looked up at Vitani, "No, I'm staying with this male lion who has scars all over his body, he strikes me if I don't do things properly," Kula frowned and then Vitani frowned, "oh, I'm sorry to hear that," Vitani nuzzled Kula once again, then Kula replied, "Thanks, luckily the scars heal fast," Kula smiled and then froze, Vitani wondered what was going on, "Whats the matter Kula?" Vitani asked, Kula looked up at Vitani frightned, "It's him... I need to be asleep otherwise he'll strike me again!" Kula lay back down on the ground and turned to face a big boulder, she closed her eyes. Vitani looked at Kula and said "he won't hurt you if I'm here," Vitani got into her pouncing posion, the male lion prodded into the den and looked at Vitani angrily, "what are you doing here? I never invited you now, did I?" The male growled, Vitani got up into her normal standing posion,"you won't dare come near Ku--" Vitani froze, she recognised a scar on the male lions face, she smiled a huge smile, "Kopa!" Vitani shouted and ran to the male and tried to nuzzle him, but Kopa hit her and she flew across the den, "How do you know my name?" Vitani turned her head gently, "because... We used to be best friends when we were cubs... You got killed by my mother Zira, I saw you on a rock with cuts and scars all over you, but I knew you weren't dead," Vitani coughed, Kopa stood and stared at her for a second, he replied, "well... I do remember ALMOST getting killed," Kopa smirked and then the smirk went back to a frown, Vitani tried to get up but it was to hard, "everyone at Pride Rock thinks you're dead, your sister Kiara does, your parents, Nala and Simba do, everyone!" Vitani coughed and managed to get up, Kopa frown turned into a smile, he finally recognised Vitani, "VITANI!" Kopa ran to Vitani and nuzzled her, Vitani stepped back, "Kopa... we can only be together again if... You stopped hurting Kula, this poor cub and if you come back to Pride Rock," Kopa frowned, "Okay, I'll stop hurting Kula but... I can't go back," Kopa turned his back and walked out of the den, Vitani raced after him, "Kopa! You need to come back! I need to prove everyone wrong and let them know that you really are alive!" Kopa stopped and growled, Vitani stopped and shouted, "you'll never get to see your nephew! Or your sister, or your parents again!" Kopa looked back at her again, "I don't care! They already think I'm dead, there's no point in going back!" Vitani looked over at him, "FINE! I'll go back to Pride Rock... Without you!" Kopa growled, "you do that! And take Kula with you!" Vitani ran off shouting, "Fine!" Vitani ran back to the den where Kula was and picked her up in her mouth, she ran out and ran back to Pride Rock with Kula, Kula looked up at Vitani, "where are we going Vitani?" Vitani dropped Kula and answer back to Pride Rock, my home," Kula smiled, "okay Vitani," Vitani looked at her and smiled, "call me, mother," Kula smiled, "what about Kopa," Vitani sighed... She answered, "he's not coming back," The two prodded back to Pride Rock, leaving Kopa behind...
