Kiara and Vitani had been training for almost a year, and Vitani had whipped Kiara up into a strong young lioness. The two strong lionesses had broken away from their pride and started their own with the lions that wanted Kiara to be queen and the ones who hated Kovu. This pride was half the size of Kovu's own, but twice as strong. Kiara's pride had found a nice unguarded spot by the border, next a crystal clear river and close to the Southern part of the savannah where the zebra and wildebeest herds roam. Kiara's pride was strong, healthy, it even had a couple of cubs lounging about. The only thing missing in this pride was a king. It wasn't as if Kiara hadn't tried to talk to a passing by lion, some even were interested in becoming her mate, but the thing that deterred them was when Kiara told them about her plan to take over the Pridelands. They would run away from this strange lioness, leaving her alone. Alone. That's how Kiara would stay, until one night a strange lion walked into her part of the Pridelands. Kiara was walking about by herself whilst the rest of the pride were sleeping and training.Kiara saw the lion wandering about like he was lost "Hello!" He said to Kiara "You don't know where princess Kiara is do you? You see I'm her cub-hood friend-" Kiara stared in shock, she couldn't believe what her eyes were telling her, this strong young lion with pale fur and beautiful blue eyes it couldn't be him could it? "Afua?" She asked looking at the creamy-yellow so close his whiskers brushed her face. "Kiara, I never thought I'd see you all grown up!" Afua laughed, his icy blue eyes shining. "I came here to see you, and I heard about your father, I'm so sorry." Kiara's face saddened and she walked away from Afua. Even though she knew she had to get on with life, Kiara missed her father. The little queen hung her head low and started to cry. He wasn't coming back. "Kiara?" Afua said "Kiara are you alright? Look I'm sorry for mentioning your dad, I should have realized you missed him too much to really talk about it." He licked Kiara's cheek to comfort her and wiped her tears with the back of his paw, making Kiara smile a little "Yeah I'm fine, I just miss him. It was such a long time ago, but, he's was my Daddy!" Kiara burst out in tears again when she said the word Daddy. Afua wrapped his neck around Kiara's and rubbed, a sign between two lovers or close friends. Kiara pulled away and wiped her face with her paw. "You must be having a rough time? How've you been holding up?" Afua smiled. Kiara liked this young male, she hadn't seen him for years since she was a toddler, but who could forget Afua? He was her big brother Kopa's best friend! He and his mother had left in the middle of the night when Zira killed poor Kopa, they left out of fear of the crazy lioness who was later banished. Kiara looked at him. "I've been better. How've you been?" Afua frowned "Same as you I guess, my mom found a new mate and had more cubs, they're probably all grown up now, she didn't have any time for me when I was a teen so I ran away. I heard the news and well I tried to find my way back to comfort you!" Kiara grinned, Afua was amazing. "You're a good friend Afua, thank you." Afua sighed sadly, Kiara wasn't looking at him, at what he was doing. "You don't get it do you?" He frowned "Why I came here! I came here for you didn't I! Kiara I missed you, and Kiara I've always loved you. Just the way you act makes me want to kiss you!" Kiara was shocked by what Afua had just said. Kiss her!? "Kiss me?" She said still shocked out of her wits "But-but I-I-I-" Afua just frowned and hung his head low "I knew this would happen, I just knew it!" The two lions stood in an awkward silence for what seemed like a lifetime until little Kiara finally did something. The young lioness licked Afua's cheek and ran off "Bet ya can't catch me!" she laughed. Afua stood for a moment and rubbed his cheek where Kiara had licked him and ran off after her like a little cub. The two laughed, played and talked. The lions finally were worn out and led down to sleep, entangled in each other's arms.

"Wake up lovebirds!" A voice boomed down Kiara's ear.

The small queen jumped up, waking Afua up in the progress. Kiara stood face to face with her kind Vitani, her ears ringing from the rude awakening. "I'm sorry to have woken you up but I have important news that you aren't gonna like!" Vitani snapped "I've been looking for you for ages! Oh and Kiara, cute boyfriend!" Kiara blushed at Vitani's last word. "Thanks." She smiled nuzzling the dumbfounded Afua on his cheek "So what's the bad news?" Vitani smiled and patted Kiara on her head "Oh little girl, in a couple of months, you're gonna have a little brother or sister!" Her voice dripped with sarcasm. Kiara just stared at Vitani "Mom's PREGNANT!? You better be joking, this has messed up our plans completely!" At this point Afua was just as confused as Kiara "Wait I thought Simba was dead, how has Nala got pregnant?" Kiara scrunched up her face "You remember Kovu, that Outlander cub." She snarled "Well I fell in love with him, then he married my mother and stole my throne!" Afua was appalled by what he heard. "Kiara what was your plan before Nala got pregnant?" Kiara frowned, her brown eyes shining, even when she was angry she looked radiant "I was going to have a cub before my mom, many of the lionesses still believe in the old law. The old law was if a king had died and had a son or daughter who had a cub then that cub would be the future ruler, despite a new king and that kings cub. The rule would be denied though if the new kings cub was older than the old kings grandchild." Afua shook his head "I think the most confusing thing is that I sorta understood that." Kiara giggled at Afua's silly remark and licked his cheek "I love your silliness!" Vitani shrugged off the embarrassing moment and snarled in frustration. "Look can we get over all this and figure something out jeez!" The three lions stood deep in thought. Every time Afua and Kiara thought of an idea Vitani would grumble and think of something that made that idea stupid. It changed from early morning to nearly time for lunch. Kiara came up with the best idea, time to go hunting. The golden lioness decided that hunting would clear her mind and maybe she'd think of something. Afua said as a rogue he had to hunt for himself so unlike most male lions. Vitani and Kiara had found a lone Antelope and started to herd it towards Afua who was hiding in some thick grass. The plan was fool proof, Afua took down the beast with ease and an hour later the trio were lazing about in the sun patting their full stomachs. The three had almost forgotten about their problem until Vitani smiled "Hey, guys!" She said rolling onto her side staring at Afua and Kiara, who were cuddling each other to death. "I've got an idea, what if you two get married, have a cub, and we train that cub to challenge Kovu and then if your cub wins we banish Kovu, Nala, and anyone else who wants them to be king and queen. Just like Simba did with Zira and the Outlanders, except no one dies!" Kiara and Afua looked at Vitani with shocked faces.

"You want us to get MARRIED!?"
