A creamy pale lioness walked  briskly into the sunshine.She looked around and her eyes stopped on a pale brown lioness who was enoyng the sun. She bounded over.

"Zira!" she called, the lioness looked up and blinked her eyes open lazily.

"Yes Sarafina?"

Sarafina got closer."Mufasa wishes to speak with you, he said its urgent!"

Zira rose to her paws and smiled happily."Where is he?"

"By the WaterHole." Sarafina pointed her head in the direction, and Zira padded off.

"Mother. Where are you going?"

Zira whirled to see her son Reuben sat on a rock watching her, she frowned How could i forget my cub...... She turned as Sarabi wandered past."Sarabi!" she yelled and the tan lioness looked up.

"You called?" Sarabi asked.

Zira nodded"Can you watch Reuben for me? I have to go..Mufasa wants to speak with me!" Sarabi looked at her sharply then sighed.

"Of course, my queen." Zira turned away and Reuben smiled at Sarabi.

"Hello Reuben." she smiled."im sure your mother shall be back soon....." She watched sadly after Zira and she muttered."Zira i hope you can forgive us..." She followed Reuben back to the shade of a rock and sat down.

Zira walked dreamily along the savanah."i wonder what he needs me for....." She smiled and bounded happily along. Its odd, when his father Ahadi first said we should be mates, we thought he had lost his mind. t it turned out for the best. I fell in love with Mufasa and he loved me, when we became King and queen and had Reuben it was perfect. But i remember Mufasas face when Ahadi suggested it.....

The two younger lions sat before the great king Ahadi,they waited patiently for him to speak. He grinned at them."It has come to my attention that soon Mufasa you shall become the next king. So you need a queen, and i was thining that it should be...."

"Ahadi no disrespect but why am i here if your telling Muffy who he should marry?!" Zira asked.

"yeah?" agreed Mufasa."Wh is she here?"

Ahadi chuckled, amusement sparkling in his green eyes."well that would be because, Mufasa you should marry Zira."

The two lions gaped at him."SAY WHAT!?" they both shrieked.

"You two will be the next king and queen of pride rock." Ahadi smiled.Obviously pleased wiht this amazing idea of his.

Mufasa gasped."You've got to be joking!"

"yeah! you have to be!" Zira snorted.

Ahadi sighed."Im not! You two  should get married!"Then he laughed."This shall be interesting."

Zira yelled."Thats gross! i dont wanna marry Mufasa, he's my friend!"

Mufasa and Zira stood there akwardly, then scooched away from each other. Ahadi shook his head."This may take a while......"

"you THINK!" Mufasa roared.

Zira was slapping herself in the face."Come on! wake up alredy!"

Mufasa began to bang his head on a nearby tree.

Ahadi watched in amusement at his eldest son and Zira as they continued to try to "wake up". When he finnalluy had enough he yellled.

"STOP IT!" the lions froze and gulped looking at the king."Just calm down, it will be a few years before Mufasa becomes king. Untill then just forget i ever mentioned this....."

She walked for a few minuets untill she arrived at the WaterHole."Mufasa?" she called, looking around.

The golden shape of Mufasa was sitting in the grass. He turned and his red eyes looked sadly at his queen.

"Zira....we need to talk." 

 Zira sat beside him confused."What about?"

He sighed."This was a mistake."

Zira stared at him."Wh..What do you mean?"

He shook his head."My father was wrong, we shouldnt of become mates."

Zira gaped."But! You told me that you had feelings for me!"

"Zira , its true i had some feelings for you but I do and always have love......Sarabi." he stared at Zira.

She shook her head."bu..But!" she cried."You lied to me! You told me there was nothin between you and her!"

"Sarabi has already talked to me Zira, she loves me. I want her to be my queen , i have since i was a cub." Mufasa sighed.

"No! Mufasa i love you!" Zira sobbed, collapsing to the ground the tears fell from her eyes.

"This has to be done, Zira i no longer want you to be queen of Priderock." he frowned."and we are no longer mates."

Zira snarled."And now what!? What about reuben? Your son, remember?"

Mufasa growled."yes i remember him!"

Zira stared up at Mufasa."Promise me one thing... that Reuben will still become the next ruler?"

Mufasa nodded"I promise you, our cub will still be the future king."

Zia nodded, still crying she turned away." Then i guess,this is the end..." She slunk sadly back to priderock. She passed Sarabi on the way and gave her a look of pure hatred. But then it softneded"I hope....you too are happy together!" She dashed into the rock and lay on the cold stone floor, weeping her heart out.

Reuben dashed in."Mum?" Whats wrong?" he nuzzled up to her and nudged her face.

"Dont worry my baby, its just mummy and dadd y wont be together anymore."

Reuben looked confusd."But why though?"

Zira closed her eyes"It doesnt matter anymore my little one."

Reuben watched his mother sadly."o..kay."

Zira cried silent tears, as she faded into unrestful sleep.
