King Mohatu and Queen Kasi stood proudly on Pride Rock as the shaman Rafiki was holding up their newborn twin daughters, Uru and Jaya to the Great Kings of the Past. The King and Queen were happy about the birth of the twins and vowed to do anything they can to protect them from any dangers lurking around the Pridelands.

Three months later, two reddish orange cubs with red eyes, and black Outlander noses named Uru and Jaya ran out of the den to greet a new day and their first day of leaving the den by themselves. Zuzu, the King's Majordomo would keep watch over them while they were playing. The cubs would tire Zuzu out by making her chase them all over the place. She would soon tell them it was time to go home. They would complain about it and Zuzu would tell them to stop complaining.

A few hours later, a rogue lion made his way into the Pridelands and stopped over to the waterhole for a drink. Uru and Jaya wanted to know why a rogue was in the Pridelands. They tried to go see him, but their Mother grabbed them with her paw. The twins complained about being held back.

"Alright girls, thats enough," Kasi said.

"Why can't we go see the rogue Mom?" Uru asked.

"Its too dangerous for young cubs to be anywhere near the rogue, he might hurt you," Kasi said.

"What about Dad?" Uru asked.

"Your Father is old enough to handle himself and to make his own decisions," Kasi said.

"I hate being young, grown ups always treat their cubs like newborns," Uru said.

"You shouldn't be so negative Uru, just wait until you get on in years, you should be glad you're young now," Kasi said.

"I guess, but I still hate it when I'm treated like a baby," Uru said.

"I was exactly like you and Jaya when I was a cub, always rebelling against my Mother, Zuzu's Father would always follow your Father and I around and yell at us not to enter the Elephant Graveyard, but we still did," Kasi said.

"Wow Mom, you really were bad as a young cub," Jaya said.

"Your Father's parents were the strictest King and Queen, after the Graveyard incident, we were forbidden to leave the den without an escort until we were two years old," Kasi said.

"We're glad you're not that strict Mom," Uru said.

"You're future Queen Uru, make sure to listen to your Father's lessons when he starts them next week," Kasi said.

"I will Mom, I can't wait to be Queen," Uru said.

After a while, Mohatu walked out to the waterhole to check out the rogue. The rogue looked friendly, but Mohatu wasn't sure if he was dangerous or not. He still walked over to him and asked what he was doing in the Pridelands.

"Forgive me sir, I have been traveling for a few weeks looking for food and shelter," the rogue said.

"Whats a nice cub like you out here by yourself?" Mohatu asked.

"My pride has been wiped out do to a drought, I'm the only survivor," the rogue said.

"That must've been tough on you," Mohatu said.

"My name is Mohatu and I'm the King around here," Mohatu said.

"Its a pleasure to meet you sir, my name is Ahadi," Ahadi said.

"You can just call me Mohatu," Mohatu said.

"Thanks for your hospitality Mohatu," Ahadi said.

"No problem Ahadi," Mohatu said.

Over the next few hours, Ahadi got aqcuainted with the pride and Uru started to really like him and follow him around. Ahadi thought it was cute but also a bit annoying to be followed around all the time. Jaya was getting annoyed with not having Uru to play with as often ever since Ahadi became a member of the pride. Kasi assured Jaya that Uru will play with her again one day. Jaya didn't think so, but appreciated her Mother consoling her.

Things have started getting bad by the time Uru and Jaya were a year old. Their Mother was dying of an incurable illness. Rafiki did all he could but gave up. Kasi had been sick for a few weeks and there was no way now that she'll survive this ordeal. Mohatu was devastated, but not devastated like Uru and Jaya. Kasi would never be able to see them bring home their first kill. As the day turned into evening, Kasi slipped further into death as her body started to get cold. She died a few minutes later. The pride all cried in anguish as Rafiki sprinkled sand over Kasi's body, sending her spirit to the stars. It was going to be a long time before Mohatu would love another lioness like he loved Kasi. Over the nexk few weeks, Mohatu became short tempered isolated. The loss of Kasi was really tough on him. He was barely eating and only left the cave for water. Ahadi noticed how upset Mohatu was and decided to talk to him.

"I know how it feels to lose a loved one," Ahadi said.

"How?" Mohatu asked.

"I never knew my Mother, she died giving birth to me, my Father raised me until he died when I was nine months old," Ahadi said.

"Thats so young," Mohatu said.

"I know it is Mohatu," Ahadi said.

"I really miss Kasi, she was my one and only love," Mohatu said.

"I really have grown to care for Uru, she seems like my type of lioness for a potential mate," Ahadi said.

"Have you told her yet?" Mohatu asked.

"Not yet, I figured I wait for a while longer," Ahadi answered.

"Good choice," Mohatu said.

Ahadi has told Mohatu that he and Uru have been falling for each other. Mohatu was happy to hear that. He has told Ahadi that Uru will be his future mate and King if thats what she wants. Time has gone by and Uru and Jaya were now a year and a half. Uru and Ahadi were going to get married in six months. Ahadi loved the idea of being the future King with a Uru by his side as his Queen. The six months went by fast and Ahadi and Uru just got married. Jaya looked over at the newly married Ahadi and Uru with a smile on her face. Uru walked over to Jaya wih a huge smile. Jaya congratulated Uru on becoming the Queen and making their parents proud. Although Kasi wasn't among them anymore, she was still watching from the stars.

"Mom would be so proud of you Uru," Jaya said.

"I agree, and so am I," Mohatu said.

"I love you Dad, Ahadi is the nicest lion I've ever met and got to know and love, he'll be a great King and Father," Uru said.

"Are you pregnant?" Mohatu asked.

"No, silly, we've decided to wait for another nine months or so," Uru said.

"I'm so proud of you," Mohatu said.

"I'm proud of all of us, we survived an ordeal when Mom died and I married my true love," Uru said.

Nine months have passed and Uru announced that she was pregnant with the heirs of Pride Rock. Mohatu was really glad about becoming a Grandfather, Jaya is excited about becoming an Aunt and Ahadi is excited about becoming a Father. Rafiki announced that Uru would give birth to twin male cubs in a few months time. Zuzu was also expecting her eggs to hatch and soon a new Majordomo for the Pridelands would be born. The pride was really excited about Uru and Zuzu's news.

The time has come for Uru to give birth. These last few months went by quickly and Ahadi was nervous. He paced just outside of the cave with Mohatu watching him. His pacing was making Mohatu worried.

"I can't help it, I'm about to be a Father," Ahadi said.

"I felt the same way when Uru and Jaya were about to be born, she'll be fine," Mohatu said.

The birth went on for another hour and then the heirs were born a few minutes later. Jaya called Mohatu and Ahadi into the den to see the newborns. Mohatu and Ahadi walked up to Uru and peered down at the two bundles of fur. The first born had Ahadi's golden orange coat with Uru's red eyes and a tannish Pridelander nose. The second born is reddish orange like Uru and had Ahadi's lime green eyes and black Outlander nose. Zuzu soon arrived with her son Zazu. He is blue, unlike his Mother, who is purple. Zazu waddled over to Ahadi and gave him a bow.

"He knows how to address royalty," Zuzu commented.

"He sure does, it'll be a delight to have him as my Majordomo when he is older," Ahadi said.

"Thank you sire," Zuzu said.

"No problem Zuzu," Ahadi said.

The royal family was now happy that the circle has continued.
