down." he said.
Malka nodded. He turned around and walked away. Enzi sighed. He began to walk towards the edge of the territory. He was lost in though of ruling the kingdom when Malka passed away.
Suddenly, he pricked up his ears. He had heard something, but didn't know what it was. He cautiously walked towards the sound. He saw a brown lion with his head down. Enzi immediately crouched down and prepared to punce on the lion. But, when he put his head up, Enzi saw a grown-up version of the cub he knew was his brother.
"Kovu?" he asked.
The lion jumped. He swung around and looked at Enzi. The anger in his eyes were suddenly replaced by a look of amazement.
"Enzi?" he asked. "But...how? You....dead...."
"I wasn't dead, Kovu." Enzi's happiness was too much for him to hide. "I was just knocked out."
Kovu ran to him and nuzzled him. Enzi was caught off gaurd but nuzzled his brother back.
"Where have you been all my life?" Kovu asked.
"Training." Enzi replied.
"For what?"
"To get you and Vitani back. That's what I promised our parents."
Kovu looked at him in astonishment.
"You promised....?" he asked.
Enzi nodded.
"Where's Vitani?" he asked. "I wanted to speak with you both."
"Don't bother about me." Kovu said. "Zira got me to hit on Kiara and now Simba's exiled me."
"You hit on a lioness?" Enzi asked in disbelief.
"At first," Kovu said. "But then I started falling in love with her. I love her, Enzi. I support the Pridelanders."
"And Vitani?" Enzi asked.
"She's....still....with the Outlanders." Kovu hung his head. "She fully believes that Zira is our mother and that we should be loyal to her. She even attacked me when I tried to help Simba."
Enzi's eyes grew wide. He couldn't believe Vitani would do this.
"Is there a time I can get to talk to her?" he asked.
"But hurry." Kovu said. "Zira's mad about Nuka's death. She's leading the Outlanders into battle against the Pridelanders TONIGHT!"
Enzi gasped.
"Then I don't have much time." he said.
"Better hurry." Kovu suggested.
"Which way?" Enzi asked his brother.
Kovu pointed South and Enzi ran in the direction as fast as his legs could carry him. He had to get there before Vitani left with Zira. Somehow, he knew he had to stop this battle. He looked back to see Kovu nuzzling a lioness. He figured it was Kiara. He shifted his gaze and reached the Outlands. He stoped at the border and hid. He then saw a pale lioness with a hair tuft.
Vitani, he thought.
He waited till she was alone and then walked out of his cover. She jumped and got herself ready for battle. He didn't do anything except look at her.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"Enzi." he said. "Your big brother."
"It can't be." Vitani said. "You lie. Nuka was my big brother."
"He was not. You're not the daughter of Zira and Scar, Vitani." Enzi said. "You and Kovu."
"I knew Kovu was my brother, but I thought he was my half-brother." Vitani's gaze was questioning.
Enzi sighed and told her the entire story, tears forming in his eyes as he re-visited the scene of his parents' deaths. Vitani's eyes widened and when he finished, she looked at him with a curious expression.
"Enzi?" she asked, her eyes were finally clear.
She ran to him and nuzzled him. He smiled. He was happy to finally be together with his sister again. When they parted, Vitani's eyes were suddenly looking horrified.
"The battle." she said. "Zira's leaving any minute."
"What do you want to do?" he asked.
"Zira tricked me." Vitani's voice had a hint of a growl and snarl combined. " I think we should trick her."
"I like where this is heading." Enzi smiled.
"I'll stay on Zira's side for now, but move onto the other side when the opportunity comes." Vitani said.
"I'll get my pride to help the Pridelanders." Enzi said.
Vitani nodded and she ran back. Enzi smiled to himself for a moment befor bolting towards the mountains. He looked back and saw Zira leaving with her pride. He quickly ran back and rallied the Mountain Pride. They arrived just as soon as the battle started. Halfway through the battle, Zira confronted Simba. Before they could hit each other, Kovu and Kiara leaped through the air and stood in between the two lions.
"This has to stop." Kovu said.
"Stay out of this." Simba told Kiara.
"A wise King once told me "we are one"." Kiara said. "I didn't understand him then, but now I do."
"But they......" Simba began.
"Them? Us?" Kiara asked. "Look at them. They are us. What differences do you see?"
Enzi was impressed. Simba called off the attack and nuzzled his daughter.
"Vitani. Now!" he heard Zira.
"No Mother." she said. "Kiara's right. Enough."
The rest of the Outlanders walked to stand on the side of the Pridelanders as well. Enzi shared a proud look with both his siblings. Zira tried to attack but Kiara knocked her over. Zira fell into the water, having rejected Kiara's offer of help. Seeing Kiara and Kovu together gave Enzi a sense of total happiness to see his brother so happy. He saw Adanna beside her. She nuzzled him and he did back.
"Let's go home."
