defiantly at him. He turned to Nala.

"Well, Nala." Scar said. "Your sister here doesn't want to be my queen, so will you?"

"No." Nala said. "I was born to serve the Pridelands, not the Shadowlands."

"YOU WILL BE MY QUEEN!" Scar roared. "OR FACE DEATH!"

"We'll take death anyday." Nala said.

Uzuri flicked her tail at Nala. The two sisters looked at each other and understood what they had to do. Now was the time they leave to find help.

"Then, so be it." Scar waved his paw and Shenzi launched herself at the two lionesses.

Luckily, they were prepared for this. Nala jumped out of the way and Uzuri slashed Shenzi. She then slashed Scar across his mouth.

"Goodbye 'King Scar'" Uzuri said.

She and Nala leaped down from the den. They ran to the lioness and found that the hyenas had killed Sarafina. Nala's eyes burned with grief and hate.

"I'll avenge Mom, now or never." she growled.

Uzuri lay her tail on her shoulders.

"We can grieve later." she said. "Right now, we've gotta get outta here and find help."

Nala pushed her nose into her mothers fur for a few seconds and let Uzuri do the same. Then, they both ran out and onto the dry, barren land. Behind them, they could hear Scar's roar of "GET THEM BOTH!!! I WANT THEM DEAD OR ALIVE!!" They ran till they crossed the border.

"Now which way?" Nala asked.

Uzuri looked around. She then turned to Nala.

"This is where we split up." she said. "You go that way, and I'll go this way."

Nala nodded.

"Be careful, Uzuri." she said. "I can't lose you too."

"Don't worry." Uzuri nuzzled her. "Mom's watching over us. She'll make sure we get help."

Nala nodded. They both parted and Uzuri looked to see if the hyenas were following them. Fortunately, the hyenas had lost the trail. 

"Mom, please make sure Nala finds help." Uzuri closed her eyes and prayed.
