Namacub95 - He never did choose Kovu as his heir. Kovu was not born when Scar died, but Zira never liked Reno at all because she was another lioness's cub. When she found Kovu, she took as a sign from Scar to have him as his heir, not really knowing that Scar always wanted Reno to succeed him. So really Scar never chose Kovu, but Zira made it out that he did because in her mind she was convincing herself that Kovu was her cub fathered by Scar.

At least this is how it goes in my family tree. I hope this answers your question!

This is an amazing fanfic, Dakota. The characterization and the plot was perfect...however I've one question. If Scar liked Reno sommuch then why did he choose Kovu as his heir instead of him? I'm sorry if I missed something but that question was just nagging at my mind.

I really hope you write more in the future.
