Simba entered Pride Rock with anger on his face. "Simba, what's wrong?" Nala asked. "I'll show you what's wrong!" Simba sat a cub down in front of Nala. "Who's the parents?" "Me and Zira." He growled. Nala knew he didn't do this by choice, so she wasn't mad. "What happend?" "Zira forced me to mate with her, and I didn't have a choice." Nala nuzzeled him. "I'll adopt him." "You're not mad?" "Of course not, Simba. Does he have a name?" "No, not yet." Simba replied. "Milo." "What?" Simba asked her, puzzled. "We'll call him Milo. When was he born?" "Just before Zira's death." Meanwhile, Kiara and Kovu were sitting by a river. Kiara was licking another cub. "It's a boy, Kovu. Do you want to name him?" "I was thinking Lono." "Lono?" Kiara asked. "Yeah, it sounds cool." "Ok, Kovu. Lono it is. Let's head back to Pride Rock and tell the news to Mom and Dad."
Simba was somewhat happy and sad about this. He was afraid of getting old. He was happy about Lono's birth though. He always loved a new member of the family. Shortly after a new cub was born. Vitani's daughter, Hali. Vitani brought Hali to Kovu and he smiled. Cubs were popping up everywere! TIme passed and Lono and Milo became good friends. TImon was their baby-sitter. But he was much more than that! He was their pal. Timon was much more funner than Zazu. "Timon?" Pumbaa asked. "Yeah" "I have to go on a family reunion." "You will be back soon, right?" "Well, in about a year." "Okay, but you have to come with me to baby-sit the cubs right when you get back." "Oh, yeah! I promise!" "See ya pal." "Bye Timon!" Milo's voice startled Timon. "Hey, Timon, you wanna come into the outlands with us?" "You're fathers would share me as a meal tonight if I let you go!" "You're not like Zazu are you?" Lono asked. "No, but I still have to be concerned about you two." "Okay, Timon. You win. How 'bout the Elephant Graveyard?" Milo said. "NO!" "The hyenas are gone. Why not?" "It is still a dangerous place for you two." "Well, were do we go?" Lono asked. Timon's face brightened up. "Follow me. Milo, I am going to take you to a place were your father grew up!" "You mean Grandpa grew up there?" Lono asked. "Exactly!" Timon said gleefully.
A moment later they were in the same jungle that Simba grew up in. "Wow....." Lono and Milo whispered. "Do you cubs like grubs?" Just then a worm popped out and Timon ate it. "Eww..." Lono said. "Try it!" Lono took a bug and, with his eyes closed, ate it. "Eww.. how is it, Lono?" Milo asked. "Slimey.... yet satifiyng!" Lono said with a smile. "Hey, Timon, can I try one?" "Sure" Milo picked up a beetle and ate it. "That is good!" The three spent hours together swinging and even lied down to look up at the stars. "Timon, do you know what those white things are?" Lono asked. "No, do you Milo?" "Well, Dad told me that the great kings of the past look down on us. The white stuff are called stars." "So, a bunch of royal dead guys are watching over us?" "Well, yeah but I wasn't gonna put it like that!" "Yeah.... Oh, geez! It's getting late! I need to get you cubs home!" "Can we come back tomorrow?" "Yeah, sure." When they got home, Simba wasn't too happy. "Timon.. Where have you three been?" "Just the jungle" "Okay, Milo, Lono! Bed time!"
As Milo walked in, he caught a glimse of Hali. His eyes got real big and was sure he loved her. "Hey, Come on, Milo! Timon is gonna take us back to that jungle today." In the jungle Milo thought a lot about Hali. He decided he wanted he to be his future queen, if he is going to be king. His thoughts were interupted by Timon. "Has Kovu and Simba decided who is gonna be future king?" "Not yet, but I hope it's me!" Lono bragged. "What about you, Milo? You've been quite lately." Timon said. "Wh-What me? I'm just thinking about becoming king." "Milo, for the last time, I will be king!" "I already have a future mate!" Silence. "What? You're just a cub!!" Lono said, with a bit of jelousy in his voice. "Well, not a real mate, just a crush." Milo said, trying to calm Lono down. "On who?" Lono asked, curious. "Hali." Milo responded without thinking. "Well, not bad, Milo. She is pretty." "Hey, cubs, we better get going." That night, Milo dreamt about Hali all night. The next day, Kovu was in charge of teaching the cubs about the pridelands. "Why can't dad teach me, Kovu?" Milo asked. "You're dad is out hunting, Milo. He asked me to teach you everything there is to know about being king. Take a good look, cubs. This will all be one of yours, one day." Kovu said. "Eveything?" asked Milo. "Yes." Kovu responded. "Wow..." Lono said.
Just then Zazu flew overhead. "Good morning, Sire!" "Ah, good morning Zazu." Kovu said back. "Checking in with the morning report." "Fire away." Then Zazu started in a boring statement about the bad things going on in the pride lands. "Ugg, how boring!" Milo whispered to Lono. "...the hyenas are on there way back......" Zazu relized what he just said. "Sire! The hyenas are in the pridelands too!" "Zazu, take the cubs home." Kovu said as he jumped ove a rock. (Sounds like the first movie, huh?) "Aww, Dad, can't I come?" Lono asked. "No, son." Later, Timon asked Milo if he was gonna take Hali out. "Yeah. But I don't know where to take her." Milo answered. "How about the place Lono was born?" Timon suggested. "Yeah, good idea." On his way, he picked a rose for her. She gladly accepted and Milo walked her to the the waterfall Lono was born at. She said it was beutiful. Then she kissed him on the chec. He smiled dreamly. Lono then jumped out. "Well, hello to the future king and queen!" He said. "Lono! You just ruined the moment!!" shouted Milo. Lono laughed. "Who is he?" Hali asked. "My best friend. He is Kovu and Kiara's son." Milo answered. "So that would make him my cousin." Hali responded. 'I guess you're right." Lono tackled Milo. Milo bit his neck. Lono grabbed Hali and she laughed and playfully bit Lono. They played. "Hey, Hali, if I'm chosen to be king... will... you.... be... my... queen?" Milo asked nervously. "Of course!" Hali said with a smile. They played some more. Milo was very happy. He had a future mate!
That night, Kovu and Simba had a talk. "Kovu, I don't like having to make up my mind on this one." "Me neither, Simba." "Kovu, I was thinking maybe they could rule together." "Then if they had cubs, they would have to make this decision." "Good point. Kouv, you chose." "Lono." Silence. "So, it's decided. Lono will be future king. He will have to find a mate, though. Or Milo will be king." Simba remarked. "Yeah. But this, Hali. Milo and her have been spending a lot of time lately." Suddenly there was a gust of wind. "Father? Milo and Hali are ment to be? Then what about Lono? Who will be his mate?" Simba asked his dead father. Another gust of wind. "Another outland cub about his age? I will have to find her.."
A week later, Simba went out to search for this cub. Her name was Zene, and Simba asked her wh her parents were. "I don't know." she replied. "Come home with me. I am the old king of Pride Rock." Lono laid eyes on Zene and his eyees got big. Now, Lono ain't as shy as Milo, so he walked up to Zene and asked her out. She accepted and followed him. He took her to the jungle. They swang and Lono relized he was in love. When they looked at the stars, Zene licked his cheek. He smiled dreamily, like Milo did. Lono walked Zene home that night.
The next day, Simba and Kovu called them inside Pride Rock. "This was a hard decsion, but we have come to a conclusion. The future king will be..." Kovu said. Both Milo's and Lono's eyes got wide. "...Lono." Lono smiled, but Milo just stood there. He was ready. He had a future mate. But now, Lono was king. He couldn't believe it. "What?" Milo asked, still stunned. "Lono will be king." Simba answered. "N-no!" Milo shouted. He
