Kopa got outside of Pride Rock, happily going down the stones as his father got out as well.
"Kopa, be careful! You might slip," told his father when the older lion ran down the stones, stopping the cub from going down more.
"But, dad!" Kopa was about to complain, but Simba raised his paw.
"You did so before, I am not letting you fall again."
"I'm older now! I can walk down by myself," Kopa sighed before sitting down.
"Simba, Kopa will be fine," said his mother, and he let out a smile when Nala nuzzled him and let out a purr.
"Remember, Kopa, danger is everywhere."
"But, dad--"
"Simba, what wrong would it do if he ran around?" Nala questioned her mate, and Simba let out a defeated sigh.
"Fine. But remember, don't leave the Pridelands." Simba had an idea, "with Timon and Pumbaa."
"Okay!" Kopa was already content with able to get away from Pride Rock.
Nala let out a small chuckle, "go on." She pushed Kopa towards as Simba moved aside.
Kopa ran happily to call the two, while Simba let out a happy smile. "He's all grown up."
"Imagine what would happen if he matures--and the next King."
"Not yet. That's just too much for me to handle, too fast." Simba licked Nala's cheek, "I'm happy, though, to know that our cub is getting old."
Nala smiled, "I know."
========
Timon let out a laughter, "that's right, Kopa!"
Kopa loved the company of the two family friends, "hey, Timon, is it alright if I go to the Outlands?"
"Sure...sure...wait--NO!" Timon exclaimed, "your dad will KILL us if he knows we let you go there all alone!"
"Come on, Timon!" Kopa tickled Timon, who helplessly kept laughing for a long time.
"Alright, alright! But if your dad knows about this don't come here telling us it's our fault!" And the young cub ran away, "be careful!"
========
Kopa happily explored the entrance of the Outlands, before seeing a black-maned cub, same size as he, exploring around. "Hey!"
Nuka looked around for that sound, before finding it's source. "Pridelander!" He roared, before chasing the light-furred cub.
"I don't mean to trespass!" Kopa said when the cub cornered him.
"Then what are you doing here?" Nuka kept his angry tone and expression, slightly proud that he has cornered a cub.
"I-I wanted to explore!"
"Explore what? The cruelty of this land that YOUR dad has exiled us to?" He heard these words from his mother, and he always wanted to say that to a Pridelander.
Kopa shook his head, "I just wanted to play!"
"Play...?" That left a confused look on the black-maned cub. "Uh...what does 'play' mean?"
"Play means doing something in a way that's fun!"
Nuka sat down and brushed the tuft of black hair on his head using his claws gently.
"Do you want to play?" Kopa grinned now; he was safe!
"Sure!"
Zira found her son, but stopped by a tree when she saw Kopa-- Simba's son. She let out a low growl.
"Let's play Hide and Seek--"
Zira came running towards her son, then was about to hurt the young cub when Simba roared at her.
"Simba."
"Zira."
Zira smirked, and planned to attack until all of the lionesses went beside Simba. "What brings YOU to this land?"
"For my son. Kopa, come here." Simba commanded Kopa, in which he listened
"Nuka."
Both cubs found the safety of their parent's arms, shaking slightly in fear.
"Simba, what are you doing here?" Zira still kept smirking, "you know your rules. You CANNOT go to the Outlands."
Simba growled, "if my cub was in danger, I can't do anything but find him--even in the most dangerous lands I will search for him."
"Well? I supposed I could...let him go." Zira grinned evily at the cub, who ran for his mother.
"Kopa, are you okay?" Nala embraced her cub once he was near her.
Kopa nodded.
"We will leave. I am sorry for trespassing." Simba walked away, carrying Kopa using his mouth.
"Bye..." The two cubs said their goodbyes.
=======
"Nuka!" Zira growled at her son, who shaked in fear.
"I-I didn't mean to--"
"Mean to what, Nuka? I made a fool of myself there, when I knew I could have finished him!"
"He was nice!"
"Nuka! His father exiled us to DIE!" Zira looked at her son, "you cannot be friends with him, he will kill you when he gets the chance!"
"R-really?"
"Of course! Why is he the heir of the King, then?"
Nuka looked away, anger appearing in his eyes.
=======
"Kopa." Simba called when he thought he was free from his father.
"Yes, dad?" He looked down, knowing Simba was disappointed.
"What were you doing?"
"I thought we could be friends!"
"Kopa, he will use you to get to me." Simba let out a sad smile, "if he gets to me, what will happen to the Pridelands?"
"Ruined." Kopa sighed, "so I guess he was going to use me?"
"Yes, that's why it's best you don't go outside the Pridelands, you might get hurt."
Kopa looked at where he ran off to, smiling sadly. "Okay, I won't go there anymore."
He then turned away, not thinking of looking back again at the cub that was there.
