It all started when Juanite was a cub, smiling and happy. She was the princess of her pride, and betrothed to a slimeball named Jay. The cub didn't really hate Jay, but he just wasn't very kind. Her best friend Kweli, however, was like the light of her world. They did everything together. Everything. From napping to running for their lives.

Juanite grew to be a beautiful young lioness. She was on the go whether it was hanging with Kweli or hunting for the pride's meals, which she did alot. One time, she was running around with Kweli and fell over laughing, and looking into his eyes made her dizzy. She thought maybe Jay wasn't the one she should be betrothed to after all.

Jay, on the other hand, was totally loving the fact that he would get to be the king, with Juanite as his queen- and personal servant. "Things happen, you know." Juanite would say, hinting him in that she didn't want him, but someone else. But of ourse, the stupid lion would just walk away and think about being king again.

But soon, he took a clue. His Juanite was being stolen by a commoner. He would have it in for Kweli.

The two lovebirds had no idea of Jay's plan and would walk along happily, talking about their feelings and some random things. But I'll never get her, Kweli thought. Jay's the one betrothed to her, not me. Kweli was hurt. He looked away and ran, leaving Juanite alone in the light of the moon. Juanite sighed. Why am I stuck with Jay, anyways? I should get to mate with whomever I choose. And I choose Kweli.

Kweli and Juanite ran off a few months later to mate, not caring about what Jay or their parents might think. They had two cubs, named Ducha and Pili. But after a year and a quarter, Jay returned from his secrecy of his dark and gloomy den, where he spent most of his time planning what he'd do to Kweli once he got to him. He appeared to the 4 and smiled evilly. Juanite gasped and hid behind Kweli, who also looked quite shocked. "J-jay..." he said, fumbling. Jay snarled. "You're coming with me, princess." he told Juanite, coming over to ehr slowly, taking her away. That got Kweli's attention. He roared and attacked the evil lion, protecting his beloved, who stood guarding the cubs.

"You'll NEVER get your claws on my mate!" Kweli barked, biting the traitor's neck. Jay howled, and threw him off. "Oh really, now?" Jay said slyly, looking at his enemy who lay injured of the rocky floor. Juanite got a look of worry in her eyes, and shoved the cubs into a small crevice while she tried to reach Kweli. But knowing what she'd be doing, Jay blocked her and smiled. "So.... wanna mate?" he asked. The lioness looked disgusted, as if she had just seen a bug's guts. She pushed past him and licked Kweli, as he started to get up. He was wounded badly, but not dead. Juanite snarled. "We're alive and ready to fight, scum." Jay laughed at this comment, but that stopped as soon as she attacked. He wasn't ready for that. He couldn't fight his future queen.

"Afraid?" she taunted. Jay snarled. "No. I can't fight a female." he lied, smiling stupidly. Juanite bit at him. Jay shoved her off and went for Kweli. "It ends here." he decided, lunging at him, the two stubling down a steep hill. Kweli was getting scratched up badly. He was bleeding. He knew what would happen, and he wasn't happy. As soon as they hit the bottom, Jay bit at Kweli everywhere. Juanite came skidding down the side just in time. She attacked Jay, who roared in terror that he was being beaten by her. Kweli coughed, and as soon as she seemed to be finished with this lion that had once seemed cool, Juanite came running to him. A tear rolled down her cheek. "My Kweli-" she started, cut off by Jay's growls of pain and Kweli's new speech. "I won't last. I never would've. Go on without me. Run." Juanite was startled by his words. "Never." she said, gulping back a sob. Kweli bent up slowly to lick her, then lay down again, motionless. Kweli was dead.

Juanite roared in agony many times before realizing that Jay was still alive, laying there. She turned and glared at him, her green eyes turning to a deep shade of maroon. "You kill him..." she said. "You pay." she said, attacking him again. Jay fought her off of him quickly and ran away.

The night was long that day. Cold. Lonely and dark. Then a thought hit her: the cubs. She ran up the hill and skidded to a stop at the cave that she had set her babies in. Ducha and Pili were still there, shivering from the cold. Phew. she thought. "Ducha.. Pili..... I need to tell you something..." As the lioness told them the story, the cubs cried their minds out.

2 weeks later, after days of shame and hurt, Jay returned. Juanite was forced by him to have his cub- he would've killed Ducha and Pili otherwise. They named him Ijara. Juanite was miserbale still. She ordered Jay and Ijara to leave immediately, now that he had his prize. Juanite couldn't take it. Luckily, the two left quickly, leaving the three in peace.

Little did they know, Ijara was turning evil over the years. Trained by Jay to kill, Ijara was a brute. Though Jay died over time, his son came back to Juanite and her cubs one night, ready to fight. Ducha gasped. Pili growled. Juanite just lay in horror, too old to move. Ijara snarled at Ducha and attacked. Ducha side-stepped and pinned him, now beginning doing what her mother had once done to Jay. Ijara was in pain. The lioness did what her mother couldn't: slashed and hacked, and hurt the traitor 'til the death.

Juanite flinched. She hadn't expected that from Ducha. But at least there would be no more evil people coming from that family, which she dreaded would happen if her daughter hadn't done so to Ijara. As sunlight came through the clouds, Kweli's smiling face shone. Juanite gasped with excitement. Ducha looked in awe. Pili beamed with shock. And next to the dead lion, was another familiar face: Jay. Juanite, Kweli started. I hope you forgive me for allowing myself to leave. And Jay has recently admitted the murder to King Mufasa, and has now come with me for forgiveness. Please, accept. The lioness was shaken, but she nodded. Kweli smiled. Jay has agreed not to speak to you until you join us, which hopefully will not be soon.

Juanite was still dazed. "Things happen, Kweli. You never know." she said meekly, smiling at him. Kweli didn't seem too pleased with this, but he decided to change subjects. On a happy note, I heard your pride's food levels are, um, growing. Juanite raised a brow, but she didn't deny it. That was kind of true.

"Daddy," Pili said. "Can you stay?" He smiled at Kweli, hopefully. That took the lion's guard off. Pili, I'm afraid not. he replied, frowning.

Juanite was agitated. She mumbled some things about death and idiots, and when she looked up, Kweli & Jay were gone. The lioness shed a tear, then turned to her cubs. "Go to Queen Kiara. She'll watch you while I do something important." she advised, scooting them along. Ducha looked worried for her mother, and Pili was just plain confused, but they did as she asked.

She glared at the sun, as if it were the one that killed her Kweli. She then ran away, to the gorge that had taken so many lives- Mufasa, Nuka, and Zira had all perished here. Juanite looked at the rushing water below her. Long drop, she mused. The girl shivered, but she jumped.

Juanite was falling, and miles below would she die. A minute later, she hit the ground and went unconcious.

She woke up a few days later, being cared for by a strange lioness. She tried to swat at her, because she was ruining her chances of being with Kweli again, and the lioness backed up. Juanite snarled, and the young huntress ran away. Then Juanite realized something- the logs, and a lion running up. She quickly got up and followed, trying to get him, remembering Nuka's mistake. He roared, confused why this lioness would be following him, but he kept on. Juanite's foot slipped on a log and she fell, now getting crushed by logs.

Her hearing went bonkers. Her eyes started to shut, and soon everything went black.

Juanite woke up the next morning, walking in a strange place. She spotted 3 familiar people: Kweli, Jay, and Ijara. She had made it. Juanite ran up to them. "I'm sorry, I couldn't take it." she confessed. Kweli looked disapointed, yet still happy to see his mate happy. Jay stepped forward. "I need to tell you something, Juanite." he said politely, escorting her to a private area.

Once he had finished telling her what he needed to say, Juanite took a hint. She decided she'd do the favor now. She descended down, and found herself next to Ducha and Pili. They hadn't gone to Kiara after all. They had watched their mother commit suicide, and were now shedding tears. Ducha was shocked to see her mother back again. I am sorry, the lioness said.  I needed your father.

The two seemed to understand. As Juanite went back, she said, "It is done."

 Meanwhile,

It's like Romeo and Juliet. Juliet kills herself to be with Romeo and Juanite kills herself to be with Kweli. I loved the fic.
