It was the beginning of a Fall day in the Pridelands, and the new generation had just begun, for it was the day where Ahadi and Uru's new cub, Mufasa, would have his presentation. All the animals gathered from near and far to witness the baby be held up by the Pride's shaman, Rafiki.

Once the presentation was over, Uru licked her precious cub, and looked up at Ahadi, who smiled at his son. Mufasa gazed up at his father admiringly, wiggling his paw. The other pride members watched as the cub took his first steps from his mother's gentle legs. As one of the lionesses, one of Ahadi's old friends, to be specific, walked closer up to sniff this young prince, she brought her baby cub, Sarabi, to meet him.

The two now-betrothed cubs sniffed each other for a few minutes, and then began to play. The proud parents watched their cubs, and knew it would all go well when the time came for the new king.

Months passed, and Mufasa and Sarabi were the best of friends. From lazing around to tricking Scar, Mufasa's new brother, the two were inseperable. They chased butterflies, played tag, and sometimes even play fought all day long. One day, when Scar had joined in one of their play fights, Mufasa accidentally scratched his little brother down the eye. "Oh, Scar, I am so sorry! Are you alright?", Mufasa asked, horrified and upset. Scar truly was scarred, in his heart and on his eye. Oh, he's gonna hate me! And what about mom and dad? What will they think of me then? , Mufasa thought, even more horrified now that his mind had brought Ahadi and Uru into this mess.

As a teenager, Scar still hated his brother for the mistake. He laid on a rock and rested, finally getting some rest without those two older cubs ruining it for him again. Then Mufasa came into view, and under his breath, he let out, "Oh, no, not him.". The future king paid no attention to his brother, and went over to Uru, asking, "Mother? Is it ok if Sarabi and I hang out in the trees, by that barren stretch of land?". Uru nodded, as Mufasa's father added, "Just be careful, OK?". Mufasa rolled his eyes, gave his dad a nudge, and went off to get his betrothed, who he now really loved.

So, Sarabi and the teenage prince, Mufasa, went out on some sort of a 'date'. Suddenly, there was a large fog, and the two could no longer find each other, even shouting did not work. Sarabi managed to find her way home, but Mufasa took a different path, and soon ended up in a strange pride. The king of this new land welcomed Mufasa, and they trusted him greatly, not knowing he had come from another pride.

Days had passed since their separation, and Sarabi had grown worried. She was not alone, as Ahadi and Uru wept almost the whole time, especially Uru. "Ahadi!", Sarabi called, waiting for the king to reply. He soon came over, and asked, "What's the matter, Sarabi?". The young lioness explained that she was going to search for her friend, and Ahadi reluctantly agreed. Father, please guide her. I don't want her lost, too. , the old king thought. Surely Mohatu wouldn't let him down?

Sarabi searched everywhere she could, which she figured would be no use anyways. 'Sarabi, we'll always be together! Best friends until the end of time, right?' , Mufasa had asked long ago. Suddenly, old memories and visions flooded Sarabi's mind. She saw herself agreeing to many of her best friends plans and questions, such as the one that had played through her mind earlier. ' Mufasa, help me!' , she had screached when she almost drowned. She saw Mufasa saving her with graceful swimming, beautiful, determined eyes focused.Oh, how much she'd give to have that here, in this strange part of her homeland. Then, she saw a brownish-gold lion teen with red mane splotches on some of his body. She knew that build, the pattern of the tail tuft, even the soft expression on this young lion's face. Mufasa! He's alive! , she exclaimed in her head, running towards the figure.

Sarabi? What's she doing way out here? , Mufasa wondered, watching his love sprint in his direction. When she reached him, they gave each other excited looks, then nuzzled. They started to talk about how much they had missed each other, but then realized the families from Mufasa's current residence forming a large circle around the couple. "Mufasa, who is this trespasser?" , the king demanded of him, snarling in Sarabi's direction. The she-lion gasped, and looked at Mufasa. "You have another pride!?", she yelled, angered greatly. How could her betrothed not come home and tell her? "You're a traitor, Mufasa!", she cried, and ran off to find Pride Rock.

"Mufasa, you have lost our trust and so your friend's. She is very correct- You are a traitor.", the king's brother said grimly. Some lionesses snarled, others only giving upset glances. Then the entire pride vanished, and the young prince was on his own. He knew what he had to do, even if he gave himself a scar, like he did his brother, in the process. He had to find his friend and apologize. He ran off into the distance, searching the ground for Sarabi's pawprints, which was a success. He decided the tracks were fresh, and followed them until he saw Pride Rock from where he was standing. He had made it. Now all he had to do was explain everything.

Sarabi had a hard time believing him at first, but she apologized to her friend for acting up. Scar, however, was not so happy, because of Mufasa's return, meaning he would never be king. He rolled his eyes as the two nuzzled, and decided to climb up to the cave in his annoyance. One of Sarabi's friends, Sarafina, was with Mufasa's parents, smiling at this sight. She knew that her best friend would be queen in just a matter of time.

A couple years later, Mufasa was ruler, with Sarabi at his side as the Queen. And so, a new generation was to come. What they didn't know was that Scar still had hatred towards his older sibling, and had vowed to kill him and the king's new cub, so that the scarred lion could be king. But that's another story.
