Up next concerns Tranda's grieving over Maalik. Because of their shared past together, Tranda really loved Maalik. Not as a lover, but as a friend. He was the only lion in the pride she felt truly comfortable with (of course Merlissa and eventually Zarah make it to that list).
As she does not participate in the fight, Tranda doesn't find out about his death until the rest of the pride returns from the fight to tell the news. Her heart crushed, the only thing Tranda can do is cry and cry.
Meanwhile, Zarah tries to comfort her throughout it all.
