'I thought you were happy here,' he says to her, unbelieving to what she's told him.
She shakes her head. 'I was happy here with you, Uzoma. But my place is the river, and Imamu.'
'He left you for the war!'
'And he's come back from the war. I have a duty to him and the Riverlands. I can't abandon that.'
The lion grew quiet for a moment. 'So... is this goodbye?'
'We can still be friends, Uzoma.'
But the lion did not want to hear it, and turned his back towards her for the last time.

HEY LOOK, ANOTHER RIVERLAND PICTURE. This time featuring Nyarai and Uzoma after the Riverland/Outland war ends.
Deeply in love with her, Uzoma wants Nyarai and her cubs to stay with him in the Outlands. However, because of her place in line to rule the Riverlands and the fact that her mate Imamu survives the war, Nyarai decides to leave for home.
Uzoma doesn't take too kindly to this, unfortunately, and this is the last time the pair ever talk, no less see, one another again.
