Tojo was born after the murder of his father alongside his sister and half siblings. After her youngest son is stolen in the middle of the night, Sarafina harbors Tojo more than she does Nala or Kula, her other two daughters. Tojo, clumsy and always finding a away to hurt himself, doesn't mind this one bit however. Often Sarafina preached to him and Nala about the majesty that was their sire, Janja, and Tojo aims to be just like him.
During Scar's reign, he turns out to be much better as he is soft spoken and as not judgemental. Despite greif and desperance reaking havok on the land, twisting the people, and plunging it as well as all who inhabit into darkness, Tojo is impervious to it all.
