Makini's decision

This a part of the life if Kurudi and Makini.
Kovu was taking them out for a walk along the gorge when a sudden crack dislodged part of the cliff. Kurudi and Kovu fell. Makini only had enough strength and power to save one of them.
Does he choose Kurudi or Kovu?
His mate or his father?
He chooses...
...
...
...
...Kurudi.

I think Makini made the best choice- his past or his future. Without Kisini, he would have no future with her and their relationship had only just begun, but he's already spent a lot of time with Kovu.
