I think this would be a good way for them to star getting closer, they've taken out al their anger and hate on each other so there's nothing left for them to resent each other for, s there's only one way to go.

Brown - Yeah, these two have had their issues xD But it'll serve to make them stronger once they get their problems out in the open.

Honestly in this state they'd be pushing each other's buttons, but I think once everything's said and done, they'll grow closer. And then once Maalik explains his family's history then Ari would understand that he doesn't mean the things he says, but when he's enraged he can't help it.

I know. She doesn't know about what his family is really like, she only knows that their pride is their enemies and so she hates Maalik on principle. I imagine that Maalik might say some things that could push Ari's Beserk Button, meantioning Kayode.

But yeah and I don't think Ari would want to learn about his family tree at first because of the bad blood between the prides. But perhaps once she warms up to him, he can explain to her why his family is such a Berserk Button for him.

Maalik is a nice guy, but like you said, he's not stable either. I doubt that Ari really understands just how unstable his family line is so when the above happens she just thinks it's just a fit of anger and not because he can't control his temper at times.
