I know! It's strange how you don't notice something until someone else calls attention to it. Quanna and Sassia fall out, Baako and Enu fall out, Kayode and Ari don't, Ayodele and Erevu have a spat as well. I think this family needs to sort out its issues.

Haha there's nothing wrong with reading into it! I do it all the time. But I think it's kind of funny how that works: first Quanna and Sassia's relationship plunders because of Ari, then Baako and Enu's relationship is thrown out the window after what Zuri did, but Kayode and Ari break break the cycle started by their respective grandmothers. This is very interesting indeed because I never even noticed it until now

I know! I only just realised that! Aside from the Kayode/Zuri stuff they do parallel Quanna and Sassia which is kind of tragic in a way...but does that mean that Ari and Kayode sort of subvert that trend? Although Kayode tolerated Ari when they were young they did love each other up until Kayode's death and even then Ari still loved him...or am I reading far too much into this?

I just realised how similar this situation is to what happened between Sassia and Quanna. Two sisters, best friends when they were young, fall out over a male and hate each other as adults.
