May I Call You Daddy?
Entry for Malta's awesome contest "Create The Best Family Picture!".
Wafa was blown out of his family tree after a merciless storm came to Africa. The storm lasted for 4 days and the baby monkey (starving and weak) wandered aimlessly about, looking for his home. Desperate and wet, Wafa came across a cave where was found by Ebon and his mate Gantua.
Gantua instantly took Wafa in as her own (having recently given birth to a daughter, she had lots of milk to spare).
Wafa became part of the family, but he only became close to Ebon when Gantua left to go out to hunt with two lionesses.
Wafa, cold, crept up to the large male lion who he always thought scary. Squeezing under Ebon's arm the baby fell asleep. Ebon's eye flickered open and he looked down at the monkey, before smiling, pulling him closer in a fatherly embrace and drifting off to sleep.
