Do you reckon that Zira's plans to kill Simba and take over the Pride Lands were mainly because she wanted to avenge her mate's death as she supposed that Simba killed Scar; or she just wanted her kind to take over and dominate the kingdom for generations to come?

Both actually, first revenge for killing Scar and then reclaiming what was supposedly their, meaning conquer Pridelands. I guess after Kovu abandoned that goal, she probably wanted to rule, until she gets new male cub to take Kovus place or make Vitani her heir.
