i was playing a gamebook recently and at the end I noticed a thing you can press that says:

"roll the dice"

I clicked on it and all it does is tell you what number you got

whats the point of it being there?

"Rolling the dice" gives you a random number. The idea is, if you
can't decide which gamebook option to choose, you can "roll the dice"
and pick the choice of the corresponding number. It's kind of a
sophisticated version of Eeny Meeny Miney Moe.
