Why did they have to have Mufasa die? They way died made this not be a kids movie. Why couldn't he live and finally return at the end of the movie?

Because i think that it would be boring if no one died in it and
everyone lived happily ever after. I know what you meen though, i was
nearly crying at that part.

This is plenty a kids movie. Jeez..
If Mufasa didn't die, then
what would have been the point of the movie? Simba would have been
king. Whoop..the movies over. Is that really what you want? "Oh
lookie! Simba's king! Obviously! The END!"
no.
Besides,
this movie was based off Hamlet..I believe..

Older disney movies have been much worse. And death happens, it added
the needed drama for the movie to progress. It happened in the sequel
twice as well. Not everything can have a happy ending. Then it would
be boring Lol. And predictable.

Its how the story is.
If Mufasa had never died, then maybe Simba
wouldn't have ran away and had to make a life-altering decision in
order to find his place.
