I was watching the second lion king and it looked like simba and zira were the same age! Look at these pictures.How could scar be zira's mate if she was a cub when he was already grown?Maybe even when mufasa was murdered! How could it be?

Technically, Scar's reign went on for about 4/5 years before Simba returned. If Zira is younger or the same age as Simba, she would still be able to be Scar's mate. It comes down to getting your answers from reading up on real lions.

A lioness reaches maturity at about 2/3 years old, and can breed from the age onwards. She would have had her first litter by the time she is 3/4 years old. So it's all very plausible.

I don't think Zira and Simba were the same age but it's possible and as Arterius said they could still be mates

Who can tell,maybe Zira was fully grown,after all she did say in a scene deleted from TLK 2,that Scar was her beloved,but that line was dropped from the sequel. -Celtic Kate
