At first Kovu's parents were intended to be Zira and Scar but, due to the incest problem the fact of being Scar's son would have caused, the idea was eliminated. Zira is not his natural mother, she's his adopted mother, since the director of TLK declared that Kovu is an orphan. There are no offical names of his parents.
